Fan Art: Medieval Versions of SUPERMAN, BATMAN, & WONDER WOMAN

Artist John Staub has re-imagined three of DC Comics mightiest heroes. He has created Superman as a medieval knight, and Batman as a rogue.

Definitely a different take on the characters. I actually like the look of the Man of Steel dressed in a suit of armor. The newly designed "S" insignia is splendid. Wonder Woman on the other hand doesn't seem like she has gone through much of change, minus the owl. It would've been nice to see her dressed in a serving wenches outfit.

Pretty awesome artwork and designs. I could see DC launching a nice little else-worlds title, like Marvel with Noir, or 1602. :)

@grif - I don't see a bow, buy that is a great point. Medieval Batman would never use a bow, or at least not a crossbow. The guns of the day is what they were. Batman would be in disagreement with the National Crossbow Association, who argue "Crossbows don't kill Peasants. Peasants kill Peasants."

darCNite1989 - 1/9/2012, 2:59 PM
Also, that's not a bow dipshit. Batman's holding onto a rope or something.

P.s. Am I the only one who thinks this is what Wonder Woman SHOULD look like instead of the star-spangled unitard? I understand she was supposed to be an icon to the women of America, but I never understood why an inhabitant of a remote island, whose entire race of hot women was devoted to being as distant to any other culture or society, would wear something that looks like it came out of the 4th of July edition of Playboy. I'm not angry at the unitard at all by any means. I just never got the color scheme. Anyway, rambling aside, I prefer this version or something similar as opposed to her normal attire.

@darCNite1989: Her costume is supposed to be made out of the American Flag that belonged to Steve Trevor. The amazons thought Wonder Woman would be more accepted in the man's world, if they used the flag to make clothing. There wasn't enough material to cover up the limbs.

Superman doesn't need armor!!!
golden123
golden123 - 1/9/2012, 4:02 PM
@MassExecutions: It makes more sense for a medeival Batman to use a bow than for a medevial Superman to wear heavy armour. Even in the DC relaunch Superman suit isn't that heavily armoured (for modern times of course). Superman should be wearing linen or wool or maybey something that a performer of their times would be wearing (since Superman's look was based on a cicus strongman) although I assume, a performer of medevial time would of probably been wearing linen and wool as well.
