Fancast: Justice League Europe

Fancast: Justice League Europe

Here's who i would cast in the wonderful Justice League America spin off, Justice League Europe.

First off, I don't have any reasons why they should make a Justice League Europe. I can only saw that it's probably one of the best runs of the Justice League i the history of comics (along with Grant Morrison's JLA). Justice League Europe is pretty similar to its sister title, Justice League International. but much more action orientated. BTW, if you haven't seen my cast for Justice League International , check it out.

Anyway, on with the cast:

Heroes:

Tahmoh Penikett as Nathaniel Adam/Captain Atom: A Vietnam-era Air Force officer who took part in Project: Captain Atom to be pardon for a crime he didn't commit. During the experiment, Atom was bonded with a alien alloy called Dilustel and gained superhuman abilities. Adam now works for the government as the superhero Captain Atom. Atom's Dilustel alloy is connected to the Quantum Field, which allows him to absorb and manipulate infinite amounts of energy. The energy the abilities of flight , super strength, durability, and can absorb any form of energy. He can also use the Quantum Field energy to create force field bubbles, energy bombs, and energy blasts.

Reason for Casting: You may know Tahmoh either as Karl "Helo" Agathon on Battlestar Galactica or as Paul Ballard on Dollhouse. Seeing him on BSG was the main inspiration for casting him, where he played a leader and a military veteran. Those are the basic blueprints of Atom. Plus, standing at 6"2', all he would need to do is to beef up for the role.

David Tennant as Ralph Dibny/Elongated Man: A veteran member of the Justice League and brilliant detective. Dibny has the ability to stretch his body and limbs to superhuman lengths and sizes. He gained these abilities after drinking a super-concentrated extract of the rare gingo fruit. Ralph is also highly skilled in deductive reasoning and is a brilliant detective.

Reason for Casting: I decided to give the Tenth Doctor a role that wasn't The Riddler or Weather Wizard for the billionth time. Anyway, Tennant's a talented actor who's great at both comedy and drama. I can easily see him pulling off Ralph, especially his breakdown after losing Sue.

Christina Hendricks as Kara Zor-El/Karen Starr/Power Girl: The Earth-2 equivalent to Supergirl and the cousin of Kal-L, the Superman of Earth 2. However, after the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Earth-2 was erased from history and her origin was changed: she was now the granddaughter of the Altlantean sorcerer Arion. Power Girl posses the same abilities of Superman: super strength, super speed, flight, invulnerability, x-ray, telescopic, microscopic, and heat visions, freeze breath, and super hearing.

Reason for Casting: Hendricks has the "assets" for this role. But seriously, if you've seen her work on AMC's Mad Men, you know that she is a very capable actress. Plus, she's a natural blond. And a message to tweeeeenkies3, If you're going to bitch about Hendricks being ugly, I have something to say to you:

And frankly, your complaints are starting to become annoying and redundant.

Zachary Levi as Wally West/The Flash: The nephew of Barry Allen, the second Flash, who took on the mantle after Barry's death. A less powerful version of Barry, Wally could originally only run faster than the speed of sound and had to eat vast amounts of food to maintain his metabolism. However, after an encounter with the Reverse-Flash, Wally pushed pass a mental block that he had put on his powers so he couldn't truly "replace" Barry. After this encounter, Wally could now run just as fast as Barry and gained new powers such as being able to share or steal speed, using speed to kinetically upgrade his attacks, and speed heal others.

Reason for Casting: Even though the popular pick of Ryan Kwanten is a great, it has now become a bit overused. I decided to go with Chuck's Zachary Levi. He does a really good job on the show and I think he has what it takes to pull off Wally. A lot of people want him for Barry Allen, but I think he could work either as Wally or Barry.

Oleg Taktarov as Dmitri Pushkin/Rocket Red No. 4: A member of the Rocket Red Brigade, who proudly defend the USSR. Dmitri is a kind-hearted and jolly man who has a fondness for American culture. He's good friends with Animal Man, mainly due to the fact that they have wives and children. Dmitri wears an armored battle-suit, which gives him super strengh, flight through rockets on his boots, energy blasts, and mecha-empathy - the ability to seize and control machines and computers.

Reason for Casting: i've only seen Taktarov in Predators, where he played a Spetsnaz soldier. He was actually pretty good in it, despite the fact that he doesn't have a lot of acting experience. To me, he fits the role of Rocket Red.

Simon Baker as Buddy Baker/Animal Man: A stuntman who gained the ability to borrow the abilities of animals, such as a bird's flight or a cheetah's speed. Buddy lives with his wife Ellen and their two children, Maxine and Cliff.

Reason for Casting: If you've seen the guy's work on The Mentalist, you would know that he's a talented and capable actor. Plus, he has a slight resemblance to Animal Man.

Julia Voth as Princess Diana/Wonder Woman: The Princess of Themyscira, home of the Amazons. Given the power by the Gods to fight evil, she became an ambassador to the world of men. Wonder Woman is armed with the Lasso of Truth, which makes people tell the truth when ensnared in it, and a pair of magic bracelets that she uses to deflect gunfire.

Reason for Casting: Kudos to tweeeeenkies3 for this pick. Even though Bitchslap was a terrible, terrible movie (IMO), Voth did give a good performance. She has what it takes to play Wondie. And I know that a major complaint about this pick is that she's too skinny. Here's a simple solution to this problem: She can always work out to gain the muscle mass.

Billy Zane as Rex Mason/Metamorpho: An adventurer who was exposed to a radioactive meteorite called the Orb of Ra. The exposure turned him into the Element Man. Rex now had the ability to shapeshift and change himself into any element found in the body, or any combination of said elements.

Reason for Casting: Kudos to DDD for this pick. Almost everyone in the past has wanted him for Lex Luthor, but I have never really pictured him as Lex (mainly because he's too friendly looking). However, he's a shoe-in for a role like Lex Luthor. Its mainly his comedic timing and eyebrows that make him perfect for Metamorpho.

Eva Green as Vivian and Constance D'Aramis/Crimson Fox: Identical twins who run a major Parisian perfume company. Both sisters share the role of Crimson Fox so that they can each live a normal life. Both sisters have superhuman speed and agility, and can emit pheromones that stimulates intense sexual attraction in men. Their gloves also have deadly steel talons.

Reason for Casting:It's mainly Green's role in Casino Royale that convinced me to cast her.

Supporting Characters:

Marion Cotillard as Catherine Cobert: The JLE's U.N. liason and later Bureau Chief after Captain Atom stepped down.

Reason for Casting: Cotillard's a great actress and could pul off a role like Cobert, especially after seeing Contagion.

Paulry Perrette as Sue Dibny: The JLE's information broker and Raph's loving wife. He and Sue have often been compared to Nick and Nora Charles.

Reason for Casting: If you've watched or are a fan of NCIS, you would know that her character Abby Sciuto is similar to Sue (personality wise). I also think she and Tennant would have great chemistry with each other.

Villains:

Keith David (voice) as Despero: The tyrannical ruler of the planet Kalanor. Despero posses a third eye that gives him the powers of mind control, illusions, telekinesis, and telepathy. He is also blessed by the mystical power source called the "Flame of Py'tar" which gives superior strength, durability, and the ability to change his mass at will.

Reason for Casting: David has already voiced Despero on Justice League and was great there. His deep and somewhat eerie voice is perfect for Despero.

Not nice...But, I understand, haha!

I said in the emails I wouldn't say anything, and I won't, out of respect to you, because we all have opinions, and you already know mine...

Well, I guess I should've posted before tweeeeenkies3 and DDD did, but I'm here now. I see you got another DC cast, so I'll do what I can to judge.

- You have my pick for Cyclops, I see! Yeah, he's a good actor and would be perfect for Cap Atom.
- David Tennant's hilarious in Fright Night. He'd be great as Elongated Man.
- Christina Hendricks is a natural blonde with the right bust, but I don't know if she's "built" for action. I know it's cliched, but I'd go with Diora Baird. At least she's someone thin with a nice-sized cleavage. But it's your cast, and I've no problem with Hendricks.
- I think I've seen Levi cast as Wally West somewhere before. That means you've got a good casting hand.
- Tsk! I wanted to see Eva Green cast as a villain. Nonetheless, I don't know much about Crimson Fox, but I think she'd be amazing nonetheless.
- Nice homage to the DCAU for Keith David as Despero.

Overall, nice casting!

Spot on casts! I don't see anything to be complained about; perhaps Levi as Flash, I'm just not a big fan of that idea...but hell, the rest of your cast are perfect! In fact, I really like some, such as Tahmoh as Captain Atom (people keep on picking him for Hawkman, but this one's the perfect one for him, IMO), your pick of Rocket Red (haven't seen Predators yet, but wow, he looks cool), Tennant as Elongated Man (yes, finally, a perfect role for him), Baker as Animal Man (could be an interesting Hush, too, but him as Animal Man would be great), and of course, Hendricks as Power Girl (my pick as well...pretty obvious) - after seeing this, I don't know if I'd like to see any other alternatives for those roles.

Terrific job, keep it up! :)
