Generally my idea for an Aquaman film is a story where Arthur Curry is trying to discover his identity. Arthur learns about his mysterious origins by falling from a boat and being saved by Mera. After learning his origins from the Atlantean people Arthur connects with them, which pits him against his half-brother Orm who wants to take valuable resources from Atlantis. The movie would become very Avatar after this point, but that’s my general idea for the film.
Arthur Curry/Aquaman- Alexander Skarsgard
Protagonist of film. His father, Tom Curry, had one night of passion with an Atlantean, Atlanna, which led to his conception. As half-human-half-Atlantean, Arthur discovers that he has incredible aquatic powers.
Tom Curry- Don Johnson (Old) and Aaron Johnson (Young)
Arthur’s father. Atlanna never sees Tom after their one night of love, but after she dies in childbirth her son (Tom’s son) is left on Curry’s doorstep. Tom remarries to Mary O’Sullivan and Arthur is raised with her as his mother.
Atlanna- Amanda Seyfried
Arthur’s biological mother and princess of Atlantis. She dies during Arthur’s birth.
Orm Curry- Jensen Ackles
Arthur’s half-brother who was conceived by Tom Curry and Mary O’Sullivan.
Mera- Jaime King
Arthur’s savior when he falls off of Orm’s boat into the open ocean. Mera only saves Arthur because her telekinetic powers show her that he is Atlantean. Though she is the primary love interest, she doesn’t at first care for Arthur’s human nature.
Atlan- Jeremy Irons
The king of Atlantis. He is Atlanna’s brother and after he is killed (by Orm) Arthur thus becomes the next King of Atlantis.
Garth- Daniel Radcliffe
A hardened, young outcast from another underwater city that was accepted into Atlantis. Arthur breaks through his tough exterior and the two become close friends.
Vulko- Christopher Lloyd
An Atlantean scientist who helps Arthur to understand his mixed anatomy of human and Atlantean.
Tula- Emily Browning
An orphan that Atlan raised as his own daughter. Before Arthur breaks his shell, she is the only one that can really get through to Garth.
Qwsp- Steve Buscemi (Voice)
An annoying sea sprite that was imprisoned by Atlan. He is freed by Arthur to help fight off Orm.
Mary O'Sullivan- Patricia Richardson
Arthur was raised to believe this was his mother, but he later learns that this is his stepmother.
