POKÉMON BATTLE EVOLVE - SCRIPT TREATMENT - BY ROBERT GARLEN
For billions of years, humans and Pokémon have co-existed, Pokémon acting as loyal and loved pets at our side. Our story open in Pallet Town, during the end of a seasonal period called the “HUNT”. The Pokéleague is beginning and
members of PETOP are boycotting it, and Pokécenters all over the West.
PETOP is led by Mary “May” Daisy Oak (18). Her Grandfather, Dr. Samuel Oak (50’s), runs the Poke’ care and research center in Pallet Town. We meet Ash, awaking on his 18th Birthday, getting ready and speaking to his mom, Delia (36). She tells him that as much as she wants him to stay and help her work. She understands he must follow his own path. They work out a deal, she gives Ash her blessing, providing Ash calls her everyday.
Ash agrees and heads out to the Research Center. There he see May, and contemplates talking to her before getting interrupted by Gary (19), Ash’s Main Rival, and a pure prick through and through. Gary brags about his Pokémon and how Ash is stuck with the Sloppy Seconds.
DR. (or Professor) Oak runs Gary off, disagreeing with his treatment and methods of training his Pokémon and his taunting of Ash. Ash enters the
building where he and Professor Oak speak on Ash’s first Pokémon. Professor reveals Pikachu, which is mentioned to have been physically and mentally abused by its owners, and that it does not like Pokéballs, Oak makes Ash promise to
take care of Pikachu. Ash agrees.
Ash and Pikachu leave the Care Center. Ash goes to the City registry and registers for his Pokémon License. With his name in the system, we cut to a dark room where a man named Giovanni (40) who is the head of TEAM DIVISION, a terrorist organization, learns of Ash and his Pokémon Pikachu. With
the information he decides to send TEAM ROCKET, his elitist
to abduct Ash and Pikachu.
Before leaving Giovanni takes Meowth, an Intelligent Pokémon and puts him in a machine that forces an Evolution, taking his form from a Meowth(which is cat sized) to a Persian(a Panther sized version of Meowth.) he still responds to
Meowth. All set to go Team Rocket goes after Ash.
They catch him 18 miles out of Pallet town, chasing him down to a cliff, where he is confronted by the Team, Pikachu blast them with electricity after being hit by Meowth. Ash takes Pikachu and jump off a cliff into a small river.
They get washed up on land and found by Misty (20) who takes them to a care center in Pewter city.
Ash wakes in the Hospital being treated by Nurse Joy (20’s) and watched by
Misty. She explains to Ash what happened and tells him where
his Pikachu is.
Ash searches through the Building and finds Pikachu, watching as its being healed. Ash vows to make Team Rocket pay for what they’ve done to Pikachu. Ash takes his healed Pikachu and leaves the Center only to be blocked by Misty.
Refusing to allow Ash to leave without her joining him, Ash agrees out of fear Pikachu might be hurt.
Adventuring in the wild, Ash, Misty, and Pikachu stumble on a wild, Charmander, Misty coaches Ash as he attempts to catch it. With the capture of a Charmander, Ash feels confident enough to go against a Gym Leader. Misty takes Ash
to the Pewter City Pokégym.

Giovanni learns of Team Rocket’s failure, and sends them out again, threatening to have them cleaned out.
Ash and the gang begins searching for Gyms they find a couple, and battle them (would be shown in montages), in this Charmander Evolves into Charmeleon, having been used more, But before getting to a Poke’care center Ash, Misty,

May and Ash talk, Ash convinces her to allow him to speak to her in private. When they do it turns into a mini-date. Ash speaks to her about how he loves his Poke’mon.
She admires this and tells him how she’s had a crush on him since Grade School. Ash confesses his crush, ending the time with them almost kissing...
Only to be interrupted by Team Rocket. Ash and May run, and hide in the woods, Ash gives May an Empty Pokéball, he tells her to use it on her self (a way to hide from team rocket). When Team Rocket catch up, they take Ash and May who can’t bring herself to use the Pokéball. Who captures, May, Ash, Misty, and Brock, plus their Pokémon.
In captivity, Ash is confronted by Givoanni, who begins telling Ash a story, keynotes of it are his first Pokémon was a Pikachu, and that he dated Ash’s mother, even more so, he is Ash’s father. Ash is broke by this, wanting to know
why Giovanni wants to see him after all this time. Giovanni reveals he wants Ash to work with him, and offers to make Ash the Best Pokémon master of all!
Ash refuses, stating that it’s his destiny, not Giovanni’s influence he’s following, and Giovanni releases Ash and his friends ending the conversation by telling him, he’ll ruin his chances of ever being a Great Pokémon master and will never win the Pokéleague. Ash commits himself to proving Giovanni wrong.
With Ash and his friends released, Ash calls his mom, who confirms Giovanni’s words. May joins Ash on his adventure helping him win Gym battles. As this progress their relationship evolves into boyfriend-girlfriend style relationship.

They battle, Ash throws out, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Charmeleon. All three fall, except when Charmeleon falls, he starts evolving as do Squirtle, they Evolve into Wartortle and Charizard. Ash wins the Badge with both the Evolved
Pokémon.
