My Idea For Not Just A Justice League Movie BUT A DC Comics Cinematic Universe

My plan for how to get DC Comics heroes together in a cinematic universe on the big screen in 3 phrases. It features what heroes should be on film to storys for films to casting for some characters. Movies would include everything from a Justice League film to a Teen Titans to Batman/Superman team up to even Guy Gardner in a movie? Check it out!

Greetings, this is LEVITIKUZ everybody. Hope your having a good day. Now for a long time I've heard a lot of people's views DC characters. From who should play who to what stories and characters, I've decided to make this article because I (a DC fan) want to see DC have the success Marvel has. What Marvel did is amazing. When we saw the after credits scene in Iron Man with Tony Stark meeting Nick Fury about the Avengers we all knew: SHIT JUST GOT REAL. Dreams of seeing the Avengers on the big screen came true. I loved all the solo movies that let up to the Avengers movie which I loved. At the same time I hope to see DC do this with their characters. My plan isn't based of the comics. Sorry to disappoint but I grew up on the animated series and most of my inspiration comes from the cartoons but there are still some comic book storylines I included that I want to see. Unfortunately DC is owned by WB. Now I have a strong dislike for WB that I want tell because I want to stay on topic but one reason I dislike them is that think they can make a Justice League movie without any lead ups and it be as successful as the Avengers. That won't happen. WB’s has to have solo movies to introduce the audience to the characters. They need a full mapped out plan like Marvel had so every character can co-exist. Even though they won't do it I would like to throw my 2 cents in so here goes:

PHASE 1:

The Solo Movies

There should be 8 solo movies. 2 of Superman and 1 of Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Batman, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter (Marvel is doing a movie starring a space talking raccoon, don't sit there and tell me a Martian Manhunter movie can't work). My ideas for the years they could be released:
2013: Man of Steel
2015: Aquaman and Green Lantern
2016: Man of Steel 2, Wonder Woman, and Flash
2017: Martian Manhunter and Batman
2018: Batman & Superman

I don't have a story for them. The only ideas for films out of the 8 solo are Batman and Martian Manhunter.

Batman:
I also believe that for mostly Batman the style and direction needs to be more in line with Batman: The Animated Series. Nolan’s Batman series was great for mature audiences but at the same time it isn’t friendly to kids 12 and under in my opinion. They need to meet somewhere in between how dark Nolan’s series is and how light Schumacher’s series was. If you look at all the Marvel characters, whether you’re an adult, teenager or child you can enjoy them. Batman: The Animated Series is the only Batman adaption that has met these needs and why it should be a cornerstone for inspiration in the look and feel.
I believe the Batman movie should start with flashbacks of major moments in Batman's history: the night his parents died, his training, the nights as Batman, taking in Dick as Robin, Dick leaving, taking Jason in, Jason's death, and taking Tim in. I do plan to have Barbara Gordon be the Batgirl and she wouldn't be paralyzed, not yet. Dick is already established as Nightwing and Tim as Robin. Jason is dead. He isn't alive yet. The story should be based on the Night of Owls story which is from Batman #1-11. Also I do plan to add the Batman annual #1 which stars Mr. Freeze and Penguin which takes place on the Night of Owls.

Martian Manhunter:
The Martian Manhunter movie should be about the death of the Martians to the White Martian invasion. If you remember the flashbacks he tells in the Justice League animated movie, he talks about the White Martians. My plan is for that to be his storyline and how he defeated them on Mars.

Batman/Superman movie

The Batman/Superman movie is the movie we've been waiting for. The reason we need this before JL is simple: we need to state Batman and Superman get along. We have always seen distrust between the 2. This movie would show the truth between them and show how well they work as a team. My idea for a story can from the Batman/Superman cartoon & The Batman episode with Superman.

I start the movie off with Two-Face having a plan. It’s similar to Joker's at the end of TDK. He has 2 bombs. One bomb at a children's hospital and another bomb at Black gate. Robin & Nightwing go to Black gate to disable the bomb while Batman goes to the hospital. I chose for Batman to go to the hospital because Batman is more about protecting the innocent than beating criminals. He doesn't want a child to be parentless like he was. After they disable you see Two-Face trying to set it off but doesn't work and you hear the whole building is surrounded. He walks back and behind him is Batman and he takes him down. The three go back to the Batcave where Batgirl is there at the computers communicating to them. Bruce mentions he has to go to Metropolis and he tells them to look after the city. Then the Batsignal goes into the sky and Bruce decides to check it out and the Joker robbed this store and stole a Kryptonite statue. Joker wants to try to negotiate to kill Superman with Lex. Bruce goes to this charity in Metropolis where Superman is there. Also Lex is there and he and Bruce talk some business ideas. Metallo crashes the party and tries to kill Superman and then Batman intervenes and stops them. Batman leaves taking the kryptonite. Lex hears how Joker got his hands on kryptonite and tells Joker he will pay him handsomely if he kills Superman. Joker agrees but adds he wants help with a particular villain and Lex and Joker invite Bane. Bane is for it but wants double the pay. They kidnap Lois Lane; Superman comes and sees Joker with him and out of nowhere Bane who has boxing gloves made from Kryptonite. Batman saves Superman, defeats Bane but Joker got away. Batman and Superman talk saying how he doesn’t like Bats in the city. Later that night Batman goes into a club to get answers about Joker, Superman tries to stop him and takes a little look under the cowl. Batman learns who Superman is by placing a tracking device on him. Now they both sort of work together to stop Joker and Lex. That’s as far as I got and it ends with Bruce and Clark saying that they will keep in touch.

Justice League

Basically the Justice League movie is based off the animated series with the white Martian invasion. Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter make up the league. I wanted to keep it simple. Nothing to deep. I also didn't want to use Darkseid because I felt it would be to much of an Avengers look-a-like. I feel that this is the strongest story to start with the Justice League.

PHASE 2:

Solo Movies

Basically in phase 2, sequels to all the movies on phase 1 with the addition of a Cyborg & Nightwing movie. In the Cyborg movie I plan on using Batman in it for a reason you will learn about later on. Also for the Nightwing movie I don’t have an idea for the story but want it to include Batgirl, Robin and Batman.

Batman/Superman: Apocalypse

This movie is based off of the Batman/Superman story line "The Supergirl from Krypton". It would have Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and Darkseid. I chose this one to introduce Darkseid because I like the story in this and I like the introduction of Supergirl.

Justice League: Tower Of Babel

The sequel to the Justice League movie. This movie is based off of Tower of Babel story where Ra’s al Ghul steals Batman’s plans on how to defeat members of the League. I would like to introduce Cyborg. Batman calls him for help and calls on Nightwing to help him save the Justice League. At the end Cyborg joins the League and Batman stays on. I chose this story because I wanted the sequel to be smaller and more emotional than the first Justice League movie. Batman never makes mistakes but this movie shows Batman's one character flaw which is his trust issues. This is also my favorite Justice League story.

PHASE 3

Solo Movies

Sequels and add Green Arrow, Shazam, and Black Canary. I would like it if for sequels we introduce some of the characters sidekicks. Since we already know Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Supergirl, In the Green Arrow movie Speedy would be introduced. I also want to introduce Aqualad, Wonder Girl, and Kid Flash. I also want to introduce a new well known human Lantern with twist. I want Guy Garnder to be introduced in Green Lantern 3 but instead I would want Guy to be a teenager instead of an adult. Since Guy jokes around I just think it would fit a teenager than an adult. Guy is not a sidekick but a partner.

Justice League: Darkness Rises

The third Justice League movie introduces the Legion of Doom. I don’t know who should be in the Legion it but I would like Lex, Joker, and Harley. I know at the end of the movie I would like it if it is like how it is in the beginning of Batman: Vengeance. Batman fights Joker and Joker falls off a bridge and Batman is trying to save him. Now Joker has that electrical hand thing on and shocks Batman and falling down the bridge. Here is the scene from Batman Vengeance.

In the end scene Gorilla Grodd shows up to Harley telling her she will have her revenge on Batman if she joins him in the Injustice Society. In the after credits scene a man visits someone called the Dollmaker. He wants his face cut off for this plan he has. His plan is revenge. They cut it off and in the end you see the Jokers face hanging off.

Teen Titans

Now this is a sequel to Justice League: Darkness Rises but it's not about the JL. The Injustice Society kidnaps members of the League and the members apprentices try to save them. The only JL member they didn't capture was Cyborg who leads the sidekicks to save the heroes. In the end Cyborg talks to Batman and Superman and states how he liked how the sidekicks worked together as a team and thinks they should stick together. Batman and Superman agree that this team should be a breach of the JL and Cyborg should lead them. At the end of this, Harley is in her cell and there is a note on how she will break out from a Mr. J. I'm not sure who would be in the Titans but I know Cyborg, Robin, Nightwing, Aqualad, Speedy, Supergirl, Batgirl, Guy Gardner, Speedy and Wonder Girl would be in it.

FUTURE

I don’t have any more ideas but I want to see Vandal Savage introduced. I want Darkseid to be a villain to a Justice League. For Jokers Revenge I'm hoping it could be based off the storyline Scott Snyder is making in the upcoming Batman series. I would like Titans 2 to have Static Shock, Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy, and Superboy would be in it.

SOME CAST IDEAS

Now I suck at fan casting but I'm going to give it a shot.

Superman: Henry Cavil
Why? This is a no brainer because he's Superman in Man of Steel.

Batman: Gerald Butler
Why? The character of Batman/Bruce Wayne is very complex. Batman needs to be someone who will instill fear, and be the handsome playboy as Bruce Wayne. I feel Gerald is perfect as Batman and Bruce Wayne. He has taking on violent and dark characters before and lighter and softer ones. He fits the requirements for both Batman and Bruce. He is also the same height as Batman.

Wonder Woman: Angelina Jolie
Why? Wonder Woman needs to be a woman who is beautiful and can kick your ass. Jolie is both. In movies like Salt, Wanted, Tomb Raider, and Mr. and Mrs. Smith we see Angelina playing a role in which she is a beautiful woman and an ass kicker. She is fully capable of playing Wonder Woman.

Flash: Seann William Scott
Why? Flash is the kid among adults which is what Scott's role is in almost every movie he's in. Scott is perfect for the role of Flash.

Green Lantern: Common
Why? I like to think that Reynolds GL never happen but it did. Since it will be rebooted just use a new Lantern and that's why I plicked Common. To add a little racial diversity and because Common was signed on to play John Stewart a while back so I'm sure he would still love to do it.

Aquaman: Ryan Gosling
Why?: Aquaman to comic book fans and is a badass thanks to the New 52 but to mainstream America and World he is a guy who dresses on tights and talks to fish. You need someone to change that image and Ryan has it.

Cyborg: Terry Crews
Why? Terry Crews has the size and built for Cyborg. The only problem is he's a little older than Cyborg is but there could be a way to work around that.

Darkseid: Michael Clarke Duncan
Why? WHY NOT?! Out of all the characters this one is perfect. Screw CGI. Michael has the size, built, voice, everything to be Darkseid. Don't use him as a voice over, he can play him. He is a great actor he can do it.

Thank you for your time. This is my second article I've done so I would not only like some feedback from the substance but to the article as well so I can improve. Peace and discuss away.

These ideas are a little childish. A Teen Titans movie where they have to rescue the JLA. Wouldn't that make the Teen Titans more powerful then the JLA.

The best thing that could happen to DC is for WB to sell them to someone else. Warner Brothers, who owns DC Comics is itself owned by Time Warner. This company is the same company that killed WCW. It is a company that took something that was successful and instead of continuing to make money from it took it off television and sold it to WWE (then WWF). Vince McMahon then released dozens of DVD's featuring WCW footage and made a huge profit off of it & WWE looks to start their own network this fall.

Time Warner has proven that its not about making money or putting a quality product on the market but more about what a stodgy board of directors think is best. As long as they keep the same general corporate structure and are unwilling to give control over to a single person to put this together there is no chance of seeing a successful DC Film Universe come to life.

I don't think its nessecary to make the films "Kid Friendly". All the movies need to stay true to the character.

I disagree completely with these ideas. I don't think following marvel's plan is nessecary... It worked for marvel... But I don't think it's the end all be all only way to make a jl movie.

Yeah u have a point there... They would need to do a great job marketing for the movie if they don't do solo movies... As long as they're not green lantern quality im ok with it.

Look at Redbox - there's a movie called "Zombies vs Strippers" available.

Anything is possible, the trouble is getting it to work and putting passion and enthusiasm into the project. You didn't come up with any idears for Martian Manhunter, just a rehash of the Secret Origins DCAU story.

Look at the Incredible Hulk. Some say it's one of Marvel's best movies, but I say it's probably the worst (which isn't saying much, just that it wasn't GREAT). There's the skeleton story with a crew made up of Bruce, Betty, General Ross, Blonsky, Sterns, and a cameo by Samson. It is, for all intents and purposes - an extended trailer. No one gets into their performances apart from Tim Blake Nelson, and the consensus on that one is "dislike". They may get the roles right with everyone's motives and affiliation (in summary), but they are all disposable and forgettable.

They remade the Hulk for posterity's sake, not because they figured it would be the definitive Hulk movie.

The same goes for the Martian Manhunter. I have yet to find someone who cares more about J'onn than I do. I understand that Mars has a whole bunch of different backstories, and the writers usually forget what is canon and just invent their own along the way.

The trick is to make the audience CARE about these characters. Just because J'onn has all these cool powers doesn't mean everyone is going to love him. Add to the fact that every Martian has the exact same abilities as he does, so they aren't really super powers, just high aptitude. J'onn has a family, including his brother. They read each other's surface thoughts and privatize their personal ones on a different "channel". They are naturists in the sense that they don't wear clothes - they make it from their body. They believe in a religious aspect similar to saṃsāra in Hinduism - reincarnation. They believe themselves to be an extension of Mars in body and soul.

Point is, don't take these characters lightly.

LEVITIKUZ: FYI TDK & TDKR are the only comic book movies my child hasn't seen. Joker was far to dark for him to view and the themes in TDKR I didn't want him exposed to. Oh and theaters in West Michigan were carding people for TDRK. First time I ever seen that for a PG13 movie.

@LEVITIKUZ

Green Lantern doesn't need a TASM reboot simply a sequel that puts the first film firmly in the past like they did with Hulk and Punisher.

Age is a factor, consider how many stunts SMJ had in The Avengers, how much physical work is required of RDJ to be Iron Man. Then consider the physicality of a role like a comic faithful Batman.

It is unwise to restart such a franchise with an older actor especially since in that version it is highly unlikely that Bruce will retire

Levitikuz - I'm a huge DC fan, so I appreciate your efforts here. However, I think you're kidding yourself a bit if you think anyone's actually going to go see a Martian Manhunter or Black Canary film... They're simply not 'big' enough to support solo films and should be relegated to cameos in other, more well known characters movies - like Black Widow in Iron Man2 and Hawkeye in Thor...

Warner woudld never make a Martian Manhunter or Aquaman film unless they were spun off of Justice League. Some nice ideas here, but way to many films.

@Levitikuz,

You know, I usually consider Marvelite a troll as well.
But, he left a reasonable comment and I totally agree with what he said.
This is way too many movies to get a JL film off the ground. You need to find a way to cut that schedule down to increase the impact of each film. Only then, we can have a successful JL film on par with the Avengers.

JokerFanHAhaHA:
Before Iron Man in 08 one could say Marvel couldn't make a good movie if it didn't have Spider-Man or the X-Men. Daredevil, Hulk, Electra, Fantastic Four all bombed.

One could say that, and be wrong. Iron Man was made by Marvel, not for it, like the others you mentioned.
