No Hardy? Oh no!

No Hardy? Oh no!

After the news that Hardy is not Hugo Strange, I am in awe. To be honest there is only a handful of male villains that really stand a chance. So who is he? We will be looking at Batman VS Gotham, so they will want to find out who Batman is right. This doesn't nessecarily mean that Hugo Strange is not in batman 3, it simply means that he is not played by Hardy. So let me ask you, could Tom Hardy be Harvey Bullock, thats my question. Or, could the police hire an assassin by the name of Deadshot, played by Hardy?

These are all good questions. I just want to point things out. For all those who want Killer Croc, Black Mask, Bane, Hush, Etc. Where do they fit, why waste characters that could make sense, for these random characters. My friends, Chris Nolan is not a stupid man. Nolan had Batman being chased for a reason, and that villain will have something to do with this.

Of course, we can still have those random villains, but secondarily. To be honest I am going to prodict that the four top villains for Batman 3 are...Hugo Strange, Deadshot, Talia Al Ghul, Catwoman. Yes I know, Nolan said new villains, but we can't just cross Catwoman out. I honestly think a woman role in Batman is lame and boring, especially Talia Al Ghul.

To be honest it would be cool to see Hugo and Deadshot. We could have deadshot leading the Swat, and Hugo head of investigation. These roles make sense, so I believe they have the best shot. They make sense because they could esaily fit into the story. Of course knowing Nolan we can never know, heck even Bane could lead the story.

So yes, we don't know who the villain could be, so don't argue. I just think these villains make sense. Well that's about it, Thanks and Comment.

It has never been confirmed that Hardy is playing a villain. He could be playing a major villain, or some other supporting role (TDK had a number of supporting characters who were NOT villains), or something like Sgt. Max Court, or some new character entirely. We won't know till January, in all likelihood.

Deadshot feels more like a random villain compared to Black Mask especially since there's is currently a giant gapping hole in the mob that must be filled.I also really only see Hardy as Black Mask.I agree that Hugo and Talia will be in it though.

deadshot and hugo strange are too ordinary and run of the mill, to be the big bads of TDKR. To give the series a spectacular and epic end a bigger villain needs to be used, such as black mask or bane.
tom hardy may not play the villain, he just has a lead role in the film, possibly an assistant or back up for the batman like azrael.

Actually I feel like Strange is one of the only options I've heard who doesn't sound too much like a second-stringer. Not to mention the fact that he's one of the original Batman villains, pre-dating even the Joker, and Nolan has shown a knowledge of "the classics."

I have to LOL when I hear these rumours. How could anyone believe Killer Croc? I think that Hugo Strange could be one of the villains but have always thought that Tom Hardy would be better in another role. I really don't believe that catwoman has any more of a place in these films than robin does. They're too comic-book and predictable. My bet is possibly Brandon(reckless swat team leader) and Julie Madison will be there amongst others. However we won't know for sure until they tell us.

I think Nolan is using Strange as an alternative to Riddler. Riddler is sometimes conceived as a poor man's Joker and Strange is quite similar to Riddler and therefore he is being used. I also predict Nolan will use Talia al Ghul although I don't want him to, I'd prefer someone like Vicki Vale or Julie Madison. Deadshot could be used where he is hired by the mobs or police and have a cameo like Scarecrow where he is beaten by Batman. Penguin could fill the role of Falcone and Maroni in the past two films and be the new mob boss although he doesn't have to be an obese birdman or even be called Penguin, perhaps just Oswald Cobblepot or Ozzie. Other villain could be Black Mask or Hush. I think Black Mask would be better as he would be the new crime boss of Gotham and picking up where Joker left off. Hush would probably need a longer origin although they could skip his origin and just say he is a hired assasin of Black Mask.

I don't want Deadshot to be a cop...

There are two things I want too note
1) The news about Tom Hardy Not playing Hugo Strange was not from a reliable source so that might be a rumor for all we know.
2) You got to remember that Black Mask was going to be in The Dark Knight but was taken out because of over crowdedness so I would put him on the likely list for The Dark Knight Rises.

@recudes: Wasn't year one the only story Branden was in? I don't think Branden should be used because Branden was supposed to be an example of the corruption of Gotham. The first two movies is where all the corruption has already been cleaned out. So I think having him in this upcoming movie is unnecessary. and yes his name is Branden not Brandon.

@Golden123
I must admot that you are right. But what I am saying is that IF Hardy does not play Hugo..It doesn't mean there is no Hugo.
I suppose Nolan could put in Black Mask we never know. Honestly my favorite villains for the movie are Black Mask and Hush.

A big no to Hugo Strange, Talia Al Ghul, and Catwoman, they're some lame ass villains.

@golden123: Uh-oh, I spelt Brandons name wrong, I'm so sorry...oops I just did it again! I wouldn't assume that there isn't corruption just because they weeded out some corrupt officials and villains in the last film.

To be honest I'm not too concerned who the villains are as-long as they're not (and won't be) catwoman, penguin, riddler, killer croc, CGI joker or other daft suggestions that just don't seem to fit this particular style. The reason these movies work is that they aren't camp or over-the-top like some of the comics or certain movies and tv series that were made. P.S. If the movie were being made in the UK now the villain would have to be mr.freeze. Ice to see you!

golden123 - 12/19/2010, 9:43 AM
@recudes: Well Branden is just a name it's not like The Penguin or The Riddler where you can spell it The Pengiun and The Riddeler and people know who you're talking about. You have got to keep in mind he is a very unknown character. Also I wasn't mad or anything that you spelled his name wrong I was just informing you. I would also like to add that Do we really need to watch a third film about the corruption? Gorden is now commissioner and he can take care of things. We already watched two feature films o Gothams corruption. Finally, I must note that Mr. Freeze has already been confirmed by Nolan that he will not be in The Dark Knight Rises.

@recudes:Thank you for the link but it just states that Hugo Strange will not be played by Hardy. Also it's the same storie that this article is about just on another website.
