With this Summer's CBMs at an end, we now ask, who was your favourite villain of the summer? Was it The Avengers' Loki? TASM's Lizard? Or was it Bane, from TDKR? [WARNING: Spoilers from The Avengers, TASM and TDKR.]

Every great hero deserves a great villain, and this summer, we got a fair share of fantastic main villains and side villains also (The Other, Dr. Ratha, John Dagget). So now, we ask you, who was your favourite CBM main villain of the summer season? First we have, Loki, from Marvel's The Avengers. The God of Mischief planned to take over the planet with the help of his Chitauri army but in the end was stopped by The Avengers. Then we got The Lizard from Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man. The mutated scientist tried to cure disease by turning the city of New York into a race of Lizards, but his plans were foiled by Spider-Man . And finally, we have Bane in The Dark Knight Rises! Bane's plan was to give the people of Gotham false hope that they could survive, and then eventually destroy the city along with Taila Al Ghul. Vote for your favourite baddie down below.

As much as I liked Tom Hiddleston as Loki, I never really felt he carried as much of a threat as Bane or The Lizard did against their respective enemies. But Bane just got this one for me, he just seemed genuinely scary, and The Lizard had motivations that don't seem as villainous as Bane's; I liked The Lizard nonetheless though.
All British actors btw :P

All three were awesome. But to me Bane caused most trouble to the hero so thats why he is my choice.

Loki was awesome and was even more fantastic in the Avengers than he was in Thor, however, my vote goes to Bane because his presence alone was much more menacing. It was awesome! Kudos to both Toms!

I voted Bane. The scene where he breaks Batman is beyond iconic for me now. Such a shame they wasted his death. Him and Batman should've gone fists to fists to the end, not with Batman killing him of course but yeah.

I've already seen Loki and I have all respect for that character but Bane was just brutal. His voice, stature, walk was just great. Perfect villain to follow the now iconic Joker.

Lizard was meh.

@ DarkGrifter - Chris Hemsworth is Australian not British.

Very tough to call. Not seen TASM yet so can't comment on Lizard, although I can't see him being anything to rival the other two. If he was I'd have heard about it in the reviews. I think Loki was possibly the best portrayal but Tom Hardy did a better job in a tougher role as Bane than Tom Hiddleson did with Loki. Such a close battle!

Looking forward to the end of the year when we can have CBM's "Which poll was your favourite poll of 2012?"

Its a tie for me between Bane And Loki. But I'd have to go with Loki. The way Bane got killed off was just horrible at the end.

Bane didn't suck, but his performance was layered, people! He basically gets an Oscar for the best Power Ranger villain performance ever. His voice was original and different, though. But Loki was pretty cool when he called Black Widow a quim. I think Loki deserves it, but Bane will undoubtedly get it.

Took control of Hawkeye and other S.H.I.E.L.D. workers and blew up a research factory

Cause a rift between The Avengers

Brought down SHIELD HQ with his minions and killed Coulson

Unleashed a shitload of aliens on NYC


Bane:

Hijacked a plane

Shot up the Gotham Stock Exchange and bankrupts Wayne

Killed John Dagget and a bunch of other people with his bare hands.

Beat the living crap out of Batman, injured his back and sending him to the pit for five months.

Blows up a football field and pretty much most of Gotham, cutting it off from the country and set up a bomb to blow up Gotham
