Spider-Man/Peter Parker - Andrew Garfield
At first when I heard Andrew Garfield was announced for this role, I was a little iffy about it. However, after I saw his performance in The Social Network, I was really confident about him as Spider-man. He was great... he's nerdy, he's sort of lanky, he has Parker's type of scrawny voice, and he can be emotional. On top of that, he is known to be a good actor.
Gwen Stacey - Emma Stone
When she was announced for the Spider-man reboot, I was nearly positive she was taking the role of M.J. Watson. However, I realized she was instead enrolled as Gwen Stacey instead. I didn't really know what to expect, seeing as she doesn't look much like a Gwen Stacey, but that's probably because I can only see her as M.J. seeing as she's a true red-head. Hopefully she is a good pick and I'm convinced otherwise.
Harry Osborn - Jake Gyllenhaal
Ok, I'm sure there is some people who will read this and think, "Oh he's too old to play Harry. But really, Andrew Garfield and Jake Gyllenhaal are only three years apart from eachother. For some reason I can just picture the two of them being best friends and having good chemistry in a movie. I can picture Jake as Harry with the cheerful and friendly matter to him. Also I've always been a fan of Gyllenhaal and would love to see him star in a movie focusing on a fictional character I love.
Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard - Rhys Ifans
I'm honestly not too familiar with Rhys Ifans as an actor, but a friend of mine is and has me pretty hopeful. I'm also happy I'm not familiar with him, because I'd prefer to see actors who I don't know so they can bring out the character better. At site, he even looks like a sinister sort of actor, and perhaps may hit the nail on the head as the lizard. However, Connors is thought to be a more or less good person in the comics. It's only when he turns into the savage lizard when he is a threat. Either way, I can't say anything bad of this pick.
Cletus Kasady/Carnage - Cam Gigandet
Ok, I know it's a little early to be planning an actor for carnage, seeing as to finally emerge Carnage into the film, they would first have to go through the black suit Spidey, then Venom, and finally Carnage. However, when we cross that path, I believe Cam Gigandet would be a great pick. He's a young actor and is mostly portrayed as the antagonist in his films. (Ex: Never Back Down, Twilight, etc.) He has the evil smirk he does and whenever his face shows in his films, you automatically feel the intensity. And Carnage is definitely an intense creature.
Aunt May - Jane Lynch
Is it just me, or was I nearly hoping that in Raimi's Spidey films, that the old Rosemary Harris Aunt May would finally get killed off my Venom or torn apart by Doc Ock? No offense to Harris, more offense to the script for the Raimi's Spider-man. Every freaking movie had like five annoying Aunt May lectures where again Peter starts crying over guilt and Aunt May's annoying voice has me crying. Aren't they trying to slightly revisit the Ultimates in this next film? In the Ultimate Universe, Aunt May is younger and is portrayed as an aunt rather than a great grandma for goodness sake. Jane Lynch looks more like an aunt. I liked the versions of Aunt May where she is young and less of a senior citizen and more like a housewife and a mother. Jane Lynch looks like an Ultimate Aunt May to me. I'm sure many will disagree, but for some reason this is my vision of Aunt May.
For now, these are my choices. I haven't really picked a good match for some of the other characters from Spidey (Ex: Mary Jane, Uncle Ben, Eddie Brock, J. Jonah Jameson, Doc Ock) but when I do, I'll surely post them up. Let me know what you think...
Editors Note - I think you should NOT put Fan-Fic in the NEWS section, thank you and have a nice day! :)
