This film follows directly after its predecessor. Dex has grown very close to his adoptive family, as well as to his friends at school (particularly Patsy). Growing desperate in his attempts against Dex to take control of Earth, Dregon has called in a trio of toad-like mutants, called Cogwarts, to assist in the destruction of his nephew. The Cogwarts, along with Dregon’s Plague Patrol, form a powerful team that guarantees Dex’s defeat. Times are growing tough, as Hal’s health has begun to go downhill. This takes an emotional toll on Dex and the rest of the family. Dex’s first encounter with the combined force of the Plague Patrol and the Cogwarts does not go well. Dex barely escapes with his life and takes a place next to Hal in the hospital. As Dex recovers, Dregon’s forces begin the preparations for Earth’s invasion. The whole time that Dex is in the hospital, Patsy is by his side. The two become very close after this. By the time Dex finally recovers, Dregon’s invasion has already begun. The Stewarts try to talk Dex out of going back into battle for fear that he will die, but he has no choice. To make matters worse, the Cogwarts have taken it upon themselves to take Patsy hostage. Dex has to make a hard choice: stop Dregon, or save Patsy? Dex makes what may be the wrong choice and goes after Patsy. The Cogwarts make a proposition to Dex: give Dregon the powers of the Kamen, and they’ll let Patsy live. Patsy begs Dex not to do it, but he gives up his powers. The Cogwarts break their promise, and they brutally murder Patsy anyway. Dex goes into deep depression following this, hiding himself away in the basement of the Stewarts’ home. Dregon, now as the evil Kamen, first makes his move on the White House, displaying his power to the world. Dex remains hidden until the day that Double Face and Gork attack the Stewart home (more mind games from Dregon against his nephew). Dex tries to fight the two off, but his heart isn’t in it and he fails; the Stewarts are taken away and Dex is left filled with hatred. After the attack on the Stewarts’ home, Cyclopter visits Hal at the hospital and finishes off the already dieing man. Dregon’s plan is twisted. He plans to kill Barbara and manipulate Molly and Albee’s minds; he will make the children work for him. Dex stealthy attacks a small group of Commandoids and takes their weapons. Using what he’s taken, Dex goes after Dregon directly. Once he gets to Dregon’s base (which has been established in the White House), Dex once again faces the Plague Patrol/Cogwarts (the White House looks more like a bee hive now than a man-made building). The fight is completely one-sided and is nothing but a further humiliation of Dex. Dregon watches the whole event transpire, waiting for the perfect time to deploy his newest weapon. Once Dex has been beaten to a bloody mess, Dregon sends out Molly and Albee (who have been equipped with weapons and bug-like helmets that control their minds). Dex begs for Dregon to let them go and take him in their place. Without even a minute’s consideration, Dregon releases the two and places one of the helmets on Dex’s head. Barbara (who had not yet been killed) is also released, and the family is taken back to Leawood in tears. Dex fights off the helmet’s power and a one-on-one fight ensues between him and Dregon (Dex’s Edenoite mind is not affected by the helmet’s powers). Dregon has no problem beating up on Dex. However, when Dex locks down the entire base and activates the destruct sequence, then everyone’s on even ground (Dex is given a free moment after he got a lucky blow with a sword). Dregon is unable to decode the sequence that Dex has put into the computer. Dregon is now the one given the proposition: give Dex back the Kamen powers and the destruct sequence will be deactivated. Dregon’s “I don’t need it to defeat you anyway” ego causes him to make the deal. Dex takes back the powers of the Kamen, but (as the Cogwarts had taught him) he doesn’t keep up his end of the bargain and fails to deactivate the destruct sequence. Dex makes his escape through a window, thinking that it reseals behind him immediately. Dex is wrong, but the only other to escape is Dregon. The base explodes and everyone inside is killed/destroyed (that includes Nefaria, Cyclopter, Double Face, Gork, Fact, the Plague Patrol, and the Cogwarts). Dex and Dregon have it out on the front lawn of the ex-White House. The battle is very back-and-forth between who’s winning and who’s losing (this is mostly because both combatants are badly injured). Dex pulls out the win (if you can call it that) in the end. Dregon had lost to begin with. With no followers left to help him take over Earth and with no one on Edenoi to support him, Dregon is truly alone and defeated. Dex lets Dregon leave, hoping that his uncle will never bother him again. Dex returns to the Stewarts. The weight of both Hal and Patsy’s deaths is heavy on everyone’s shoulders. Dex informs the family that he will be returning to Edenoi (Dex must now help his grandfather rebuild Edenoi into its once peaceful nature). This hurts Albee the most, because he looked up to Dex like a real brother. Dex leaves Ferbus behind as a part of himself for the family to hold on to. The film ends with Dex on Edenoi, his grandfather giving him warning of bad things that may be to come (Lexian has had a premonition of a great tragedy). After the end credits roll, there will be an Easter egg with Dregon in some desolate bar on some alien planet. Two worn out, lizard-like humanoids will walk in a sit down in a booth behind Dregon (these are two space explorers that are taking a break from there long voyages). Dregon overhears one tell the other about a mystic power, called “the Zeo,” that may have been discovered in an uncharted galaxy. The power of which they speak will be Dregon’s new obsession and will lead to an event that will disfigure everything in the universe.
