Thoughts on Avengers: Age of Ultron Announcement

While I’m excited to hear the name of the sequel, and I’m surprisingly glad they’re saving Thanos, there’s still two little things that concern me. Click on to find out what they are.

Okay, so unless Whedon wants to pull a Sam Raimi, Thanos is going to be put off until the Avengers 3. I honestly thought that Thanos would be the villain in A2, so this is a little surprising. But I must admit it’s a pleasant one. Ultron is a really cool, ruthless villain that will give the Avengers some trouble. I can’t wait to see how Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch play into all this.

However, while I have complete faith that Avengers 2 will be another masterpiece, there are still two things that bother me a little bit.

1. The Adaption of “Age of Ultron”

Don’t get me wrong, Age of Ultron is a great story. But Marvel has, what, 70 years worth of stories to tell? The fact that they’re adapting some of the newer ones concern me a bit. I’d rather see some of the elements of the older stories.

The fact that they’re titling it “Age of Ultron” at least implies that the story will have some sort of influence on the movie. But who knows? Maybe they’re just calling it that as a way of making money so people will go buy the comics. So I guess I shouldn’t jump to conclusions. But I’m not gonna lie, it makes me a little wary.

2. Too Many Avengers?

When I heard that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were going to be added to the team, I got excited as a mother[frick]er. But when I heard that everyone from the original team would be coming back, my excitement decline ever so slightly.

You see, as even Kevin Feige has pointed out, the Avengers are all about rotation. They don’t necessarily get bigger (as, I believe the JLA do) but they rotate. At least somewhat, you know? I don’t really have a problem with the number of people in the roster growing SO AS MUCH as the fact that no one is leaving.

If the roster just stayed as it is announced, it wouldn’t be bad at all, so I hope it stays that way. But the very fact that the villain is Ultron implies the presence of Hank Pym (Ant-Man) and the Vision (who we all know is rumored to be played by Vin Diesel). Not to mention the rumors of War Machine. Hell, let’s go ahead and throw in the “little” rumors of Black Panther and Falcon.

In closing, I know I really don’t have much to worry about. It’s Whedon. It’s the Avengers. Plus, Tony Stark is in it. Lol but I'm very excited. This just the two little things that bother me a little. No biggie.

Please leave your thoughts in the comment section. Thanks!

Also, on a side note…
Do you still the think the Masters of Evil will be making an appearance?
With Ultron announced, what role does Guardians of the Galaxy (and perhaps Thanos) play in all this?
