Kate Mara Pokes Fun At The Dismal Box Office Performance Of FANTASTIC FOUR

The Martian's Kate Mara still hasn't seen Josh Trank's critically panned Fantastic Four reboot, and it doesn't sound like she ever will! In the following video interview (in which she's joined by a couple of other Marvel actors), the actress takes its failure all in her stride...

Fantastic Four was a box office bomb and panned by critics, and not even the reboot's cast can deny that. Kate Mara certainly wasn't in an interview with Entertainment Tonight anyway, as she joked that her superhero movie, "was the biggest success. I just want to put it out there," when the interviewer pointed out that he was interviewing three actors - Mara, Sebastian Stan, and Michael Pena - with comic book movie experience. When Stan admitted that he's yet to watch Fantastic Four, Mara quietly quipped: "Neither did the rest of the world." The actress also confirmed that she's seen neither the theatrical cut or Josh Trank's supposed superior version, and her comments at the end of the interview were particularly telling. "I've certainly been a part of movies that people are not very thrilled about. So it's nice to be in something people love, that you loved working on," Mara added in reference to The Martian. What do you guys think?

you can't be a good actor or actress for the good films you have to be good for the bad ones.

This property has officially become a joke. If they greenlit a sequel at this point they might as well just release it straight to VOD, because that shit would flop harder than "We Are Your Friends".

I actually believed what people were saying about this movie until I finally sat down and watched it and im shocked at how much I liked it. The only problem I had with it was that it felt like some scenes were cut out. I'm not sure what happened during the making of the film but it seems like all the drama between the director and the studio and it being talked about while the movie was being promoted is what really hurt this movie.
I actually loved the pace of this movie and the scene where you see the Thing in war was pretty cool. I'm really hoping they release the sequel. With a different main antagonist paired with a stronger Doom,a sequel could actually be really good. You really have to check this movie out and give it a chance, no joke. 6/10

They are but that kind of doesn't matter. If they want to do it they will. If they decline Fox will just recast.

The fact that she is saying this beside two actors who have received praise for their roles in both very surprisingly terrific films.....it just makes it all the more satisfying.

@serum1fourteen you seriously liked it. I downloaded a cheap copy and wished I could have the time back. Honestly I'd watch Catwoman, Jonah Hex, and Mortal Kombat Anihilation before I watch that crap fest. The movie was about as good a hot pepper shit and far less exciting. No one should be subjected to that garbage. Watch the 2 million dollar budget Roger Corman FF before you waste your time on that trash...

No actor becomes great by starring only in Academy Award-worthy movies. As far as I can tell, Samuel Jackson and Ben Kingsley are two of the most prolific actors in movies, which means that they they occasionally will star in a few stinkers.

But what's also interesting is that both actors elevate whatever they appear in, and somehow manage to come out unscathed, no matter what they're in.
