they should have the whole original cast except snake eyes killed at the begging of the movie

I'm looking forward to this film and I'm glad they're bringing in a new cast and characters, as the first film and most of it's portrayals left a lot to be desired.

But, because this series is continuing as a sequel instead of a reboot, that means the characters of Duke, Hawk, Scarlett, Heavy Duty, Destro and The Baroness won't/can't be used in any future films.

Those are key G.I. Joe characters and it's disappointing we won't see better portrayals of them in this series.

The real reason Ripcord doesn't return is because of Government overspending. They had to cut the budget some how in order to pay off those Mech Suits from the first movie.

Duke is in this one, by the way. Its just not known whether he'll be killed off at the beginning, or taken captive. With the amount of talk Channing Tatum has been doing about GI Joe lately, I would think he just gets captured and pops back up toward the end. Otherwise, he's promoting the movie just so people can watch him die in the first 20 minutes. No reason Destro, Hawk, Heavy Duty and Scarlett couldn't pop back up sometime in the franchise as well. Joe has a LOT of characters. You cant fit them all in every movie. Its like Xmen. Somebody will always bitch about a character getting left out, when its dumb to assume they can fit them all in the first place.

@Scorpion, have you seen the first trailer that came out for this one? Not the superbowl spot. That Jay Z line Rock says is dumb. But the other one looked pretty friggin cool. WAY better than the other. I'm game.

Do you all even remember the cartoon. This movie should be super cheese mixed with an 80s psa. It should not be what anyone would call good anyways. Never read the comic but I know it started with a scrapped marvel story so I can't imagine it being very good either.

@thewolfx - sure, he's not the least. That would be Shawn. But he isn't nearly as funny as Damon. For that matter, he isn't nearly as funny as Damon's son is either. That kid had me rolling on Conan.

I think this one looks like a cool action flick. It might not get my box office money cuz its got stiff competition this year, but I'll definitely get the blu-ray.

Honestly, is anyone expecting Iron Man, or The Dark Knight here? If you are then you are just confused.

I liked the 1st GI Joe movie. I realize it was retarded and the supersuits were just dumb, but I like watching movies like this some times.

The new one is gonna be just as ridiculous as the first one was and everyone here is still going to watch it regardless.

@DaneE5R - You're spot on, his performance in Requiem for a Dream was pretty damn solid, I was questioning myself all through the movie if it was actually him or not, that's how impressive it was!

This G.I Joe franchise has shot itself in the foot with the drastic continuity severances. This movie feels practically like a reboot already!

Honestly, as bad as Marlon Wayans is... I think I'd rather have this guy back in G.I. Joe 2 over Channing Tatum.
