Colton Haynes (Roy Harper) Promoted To Series Regular For ARROW Season 2

Good news Roy Harper fans, Colton Haynes, who portrays the Green Arrow sidekick on The CW's Arrow has been promoted to series regular for season two. This all but guarantees he'll be suiting up next season right?

At PaleyFest 2013, Arrow showrunners were a little hesitant to say exactly how much of Roy Harper the series would feature moving forward into the show's second season. "It's pilot season", one producer stated. The meaning here is that actress Jessica De Gouw who portrays Huntress landed the female lead role in NBC's Dracula pilot and Seth Gabel who portrays "Count" Vertigo secured a costarring role on ABC's Gothica. Now that doesn't necessarily mean that the actors won't be returning to Arrow but if their pilots get picked up, it would most likely mean that at the very best, the duo would return for only an episode or two.

Not so for Colton Haynes. While it appeared there was a chance Haynes could have similar pilot season success, The CW has secured Haynes for Season Two. It was also revealed at PaleyFest that Roy Harper will be coming face-to-face with The Arrow in episode 18 and that won't be a fun meeting for Roy.

I actually wouldn't mind another actor for Vertigo. As for Roy idk I'm guessing Arrows gonna kick his ass at some point to set him straight

@knighted

the way i see it he'll end up being the sidekick and he will want to wear a red suit then call himself Red Arrow and maybe it will influence oliver to call himself Green Arrow overtime

Then he will lose his daughter in a completely god-awful comic, said daughter will appear to him as a zombie and convince him to do drugs, and then the reboot washes it all away and he gets a stupid trucker hat.

I wonder if in the show Arrow if it will say he has a daughter named Lian. If so then Cheshire can appear in Arrow too.

@sameoldthing You mean only then is he the funny book Roy Harper.
The writers of "Arrow" are most likely far more educated, skilled and talented writers than the funny book guys at DC.

So instead of following DCs funny book writers they should go in their own directions with these characters.

Im sure real writers can do better than funny book scribes.

As much as I want to see him as Arsenal I'd prefer they take their time with the evolution of the character, I hate in a show when a character becomes an expert fighter in 3 eps.
