To promote the release of Arrow Season One on bd and dvd, actor David Ramsey spoke with MTV Geek about his character and teased a few tidbits for Season Two. Ramsey began by discussing the role his character Diggle will portray in helping Oliver (Stephen Amell) progress towards transitioning from 'the Hood' to 'Green Arrow.' Said Ramsey on first discovering Oliver's crime-fighting secret life, "[Diggle] was certainly blindsided, I think." He continued, "I think one of the first things [Diggle tells Ollie] is that he has no idea what killing another man does to one's soul. Oliver... needs a moral compass so that the vigilante can become Green Arrow." In addition to Diggle himself, the events of the first season finale and the loss suffered by Oliver will also play a key role in the birth of the Green Arrow. The loss gives Oliver a "sense of duty, a sense of life" that might have been missing before when Oliver was simply tormenting criminals. All of those things resonate and compel him to become the hero that he needs to become," said Ramsey.

Ramsey concluded the interview by responding to the question of whether Diggle will ever get his own costume? Said Ramsey, "Diggle's now officially a DC character and that's great and I'm proud of that. Does that mean Diggle will have a costume? I don't know what Diggle would wear!"

Arrow season one is available on bd and dvd now. Arrow season two premieres Oct. 9th at 8PM PST/EST on The CW.

"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine."

Best thing to do with Diggle would be to pull a John Blake type of move - "Diggle" is just his middle name. It would make a half-decent John Stewart reveal, and it would make sense with the character's background.

@ItsATrap Well John Diggle is now a real character in DC Comics so I doubt they'll go the John Diggle Stewart route now.

@ItsATrap: I was hoping for John Stewart Diggle myself but I suppose it's a no go!

@MarkJulian: I saw he mentioned that in the interview, do you know what issue he appears in?

@MarkJulian - I only read the first issue of the tie in series. Do you know if its any good? And I feel like as long as they don't write it in such a way that they fully reveal him as a different character (I.e. have him meet John Stewart) then they could still work it out somehow.

The funny thing is Diggle is named after Andy Diggle, the writer of Green Arrow: Year One. Diggle's brother on the show is actually named Andrew Diggle, and he was killed by Deadshot. Now, the name Diggle is becoming a part of the DCU.

Also, Andy Diggle ruined Daredevil at Marvel with that Shadowland nonsense and left Action Comics before he even started over editorial. Apparently, he wanted to cut off Superman's arm for his arc and DC said no, so he left.
