We still don't know if Cassidy will be playing "Black Canary" or just Dinah Lance, but fans will surely notice they have gone with a significantly different look for the character hair wise. Gone are Lance's distinctive blond locks from the comics..

Actually she is not a natural blonde. She used to wear a blonde wig in costume, but has since bleached it blonde...

exactly in the comics Dinah Lance was a natural brunette but then bleached it blonde cuz that wig gets itchy and my guess is she won't have the fishnets till later when her sonic powers develop

Anyone think it's odd that they cast 2 blond actors(Jamey Sheridan and Susanna Thompson) as Robert and Moira, but 2 brunette actors(Stephen Amell and Willa Holland) as their children, Oliver and Thea?

Definitely has to become Black Canary in the series. Otherwise, liking the look so far, but they should have kept her blonde hair color the same (about my only issue with the series thus far). Hope it turns out great!

I don't often complain about the looks of the character compared to the actors..but both Black Canary and Green Arrow are have been universally blond heroes...CW wouldn't have hired a ginger for Clark Kent I guess it shows the priority for the show and I assume this show will end up lasting only slightly longer than the Wonder Woman reboot

If I'm not mistaken, she's supposed to be lawyer on this show. I'm glad Dinah doesn't have short hair like on Smallville.

And I wonder if they are trying to tease the she could become Black Canary? She has brown hair with blonde streaks. I really hope she eventually becomes Black Canary.

Katie Cassidy is gonna make a great Dinah, I love it when she plays the fiesty, strong roles. She's gonna kick ass.



Dinah started off as a brunette in the comics. So if they're going about it through continuity then they are spot on.

CW did say that she won't start off as Black Canary in the series, she's just going to be a charity worker with a secret.

LOL These ppl pretending to be Black Canary fans whining about her hair. HEY DUMB ASSES SHE WEARS A WIG AND GOES FROM BROWN TO BLONDE IN THE COMICS IT IS PART OF HER DISGUISE. LIKE CLARK KENTS GLASSES.

I am actually bigger fan of Black Canary then Green Arrow so I really hope we see BC and not just Dinah.

@Dmon Except the way she disguises herself has changed a couple of times in the comics.

No one's really pretending to be a Black Canary fan, some people just may know her more from Smallville than the actual comics. I'm one of those people.

And if she doesn't ever become Black Canary on this series, I would be very surprised. :)

@Dmon Yah, I've seen some people mention that. I think they'll have her wear a wig on the show, you know, when she suits up as BC(hopefully). It's much more practical going with the wig.

And with the ends of her hair already being blonde, it makes the most sense they'll go that route.
