After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he's become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel's father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver's own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine.

The series stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Colin Donnell as Tommy, Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, with Susanna Thompson as Moira Queen and Paul Blackthorne as Detective Quentin Lance.

Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8 PM EST on The CW.

Arrow [frick]ing rocks.

By far, the best show introduced last year. This show is one notch below shows like Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones, but definitely on the level of anything else.

Love it.

I wish they would just give him some kind of like green ninja turtle mask or something, instead of that stupid eye paint. Clark Kent's glasses are a better disguise than that, no wonder everyone on the show knows his identity.

Honestly i wanted to really like this show but its not all that good. Most of the actors have been putting up good performances...except the guy who's playing Queen. Guy just seems like a pretty face. Action has been some of top notch on television. Writing was good first half of season but episodes in later half have been dragging. Hope it picks up. Also wish it kinda wasn't like a alternate version of Batman.

Arrow is not bad. Way better than I thought it would be.
On a side note: I hope Amazon never gets made.

You claim the show is trash and yet it already has captured a strong fan base and is renewed for a second season. Not to mention the ratings of this show has been good. And to those saying it started off rough, should really watch later episodes because it has improved. Granted Amell performance does feel wooden at times, he has indeed improved . I will admit that this show is not among the ranks of Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire or Game of Thrones, it is still indeed a great show.

Some of the present scenes are annoying as hell but the flashbacks are the best thing about Arrow

Great show. It has more story and better characters than majority of superhero movies with all those big budgets out there.

So i guess GOT, Boardwalk Empire, & Mad Men are thrash too cause those cause Arrow has almost more people watching them as those shows are. So with only bout 3 mil people watching them guess those fans are out of reality too. Stupid logic. Go troll somewhere else.

Yeah that'd be the best. I just don't see that happening anytime soon, unfortunately.

So the acting in this show isn't always top notch but I'm seriously tired of people calling Amell's acting "wooden". In my mind and my perception, he is acting guarded, holding back. If anyone has spent anytime with people who have suffered PTSD it is similar. Look at the glimpse of what he's had to deal with on the island SO FAR. We haven't even begun to scratch the surface of how he had to change to survive. You can see this in the difference between how he acts in Starling city and how he acts in the flashbacks. In the flashbacks, he's got more quips, more playful. He has been hardened, beaten down by his experiences. So playing "wooden" is intentional.

and it suits his character well.
