With Leigh Whannell's adaptation of
The Invisible Man in the bag, Universal is planning an
Invisible Woman spin-off. The movie will be based off an original pitch by Elizabeth Banks (
Charlie's Angels), who is also set to direct and star as the transparent terror's female counterpart.
We're not sure if this project will directly connect to Whannell's film, but it seems like a safe bet. Universal's original "Dark Universe" plans didn't exactly pan out, but it looks like the studio intends to make another stab at rebooting these classic horror characters as part of a shared world.
Paul Feig is also developing the intriguing
Dark Army, which will reportedly feature both classic Universal monsters and original characters created by the
Last Christmas director.
Invisible Woman will be produced by Banks and Max Handelman through their Brownstone Production company. No release date has been set. You can check out the trailer and some stills for
