Paramount Removes Brad Pitt's WORLD WAR Z Sequel From Their Upcoming Release Schedule

In a move that was probably a long time coming, Paramount Pictures has removed Brad Pitt's upcoming World War Z sequel from the release calendar without providing a new date. Come take a look!

It's not looking too good for the zombie apocalypse as Variety is reporting that Paramount Pictures has officially taken their World War Z sequel off the release calendar, which is not entirely shocking considering the film hadn't even begun filming yet. However, what is shocking is that they haven't provided a new release date for the sequel, which almost definitely suggests fans may have to wait even longer to see part two of Brad Pitt's zombie adventures.

The film, which lost its original director J.A. Bayona (Jurassic World 2) in early 2016 and was rumored to be courting David Fincher (Gone Girl) last August, was originally slated to open June 9 opposite Tom Cruise's The Mummy, but its inability to secure a director seemingly sealed its fate. The report adds that Paramount is now eyeing possible release dates in 2018 or 2019, and will use the extra year to further develop the script.

In other news, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio has completely scrapped their Friday the 13th reboot, which was due out later this year. Its previous October 13th date will now be occupied by Darren Aronofsky's possible awards contender mother!, which stars Jennifer Lawrence (X-Men: Apocalypse) in the lead role.

If they continue with this Fincher needs to be involved. One of my favorite directors.

I wonder if this frees up Fincher for The Batman.

Another movie that doesn't need a sequel. While the ending to the movie was pretty dumb, what more can they add to a sequel to make the series better?

@BlackHulk - Right? They have a tool that basically makes zombies not even notice humans. How suspenseful would the sequel really be? People walking around killing zombies that aren't even trying to kill them? Just sounds dumb.

Not to mention the first was nothing like the book. They could have made such an epic trilogy if they had gone the way the book did. But nope. Instead they went cheesy action style and ruined it.
