This May, Tim Burton and Johnny Depp team up to bring us their re-imagining of the classic series DARK SHADOWS. The story of Barnabas Collins and his Collinsport companions has enthralled audiences since it first aired in the late 60s. Now, FM is celebrating the return of DARK SHADOWS with THE most complete coverage you’ll find anywhere. With new and exclusive FM interviews from the original cast members Jonathan Frid, Lara Parker, David Selby, Katherine Leigh Scott, and more, plus a conversation with new DS director, Tim Burton, issue 261 is the place for all things DARK SHADOWS. To celebrate, one of FM’s favorite cover artists—Jason Edmiston (254 Vincent Price, 255 Voldemort)—brings us his vision of “The Barnabi”, Jonathan Frid and Johnny Depp as we bridge the divide between the SHADOWS of the past and the SHADOWS of the future.

It seems like Tim Burton is always stuffing Helena Bonham Carter into one of this movies, and Dark Shadows is no exception. Helena Bonham Carter this time has been given the role of Dr. Julia Hoffman, the family psychiatrist. A pivotal role in the original campy soap opera as she initially butted heads with Barnabas, but soon become one of his greatest allies.

From March 14, 1971 to March 11, 1972, the Newspaper Enterprise Association syndicated a Dark Shadows comic strip by illustrator Kenneth Bruce Bald (credited as "K. Bruce" because of contractual obligations) to dozens of newspapers across the country.

Gold Key Comics released 35 issues of a regular Dark Shadows comic book, which ran for years after the cancellation of the series on ABC. 1969–1976; and in 1991, Innovation Publishing released a short-lived comic book series based on the NBC-TV revival show. Hermes Press will release a multi-volume archive reprint series of the Gold Key series beginning in 2010.

A new monthly series of Dark Shadows comic books currently in production was launched in October 2011 by Dynamite Entertainment. - Wikipedia

Being married to the director certainly helps Helena get all these roles, still a good actress though.

I'm shocked that Depp and Carter are in another Burton film. Wonder if he'll shoehorn them into the next Beetlejuice? Tontojuice maybe?

As I said before Helena Bonham Carter is a very attractive woman. Let us not forget that ever role that Burton casts them in is a perfect fit for them. If he does decided to put them in the next Beetlejuice movie it would be fine considering their personalities and acting.
