Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all--he's running with the popular crowd and dating the hottest girl in high school. In fact, he's so cool he's even dissing his best friend Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). But trouble arrives when an intriguing stranger Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there's something not quite right--and everyone, including Charlie's mom (Toni Collette), doesn't notice. After witnessing some very unusual activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on his neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone that he's telling the truth, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.

And here is a brand new one-sheet!

Film is set to hit theatres on August 19!

First! I like Colin Farrell but not as good as the original! Why re-makes?

I don't like it... don't like it at all! Now Jerry is a rough psychopath? All the charm, finesse, and irony from the original is gone here... Evil Ed is a regular geek? C'mon! What a crappy trailer.

I'll have to see this to make a actual opinion. They made Jerry a psycho.

Explosions, car chases, Jerry riding a bike... is that a vampire movie? Cheesy! Buy the original!!

StrangerX - 5/13/2011, 10:56 AM
Of course this wont be as great as the first basically due to the fact horror movies are relying on cgi way too much lately, and what made a movie like FN so special was the practical effects and make up

PapaEmeritus - 5/13/2011, 10:59 AM
@StrangerX, not only by that kind of stuff you said... but you know, some movies just don't need to be remade.

We all know it'll be better than twilight, maybe not financially, but if you had the choice between this and twilight, which would you watch?

I also thought it was unnecessary to re-make this movie, but when I asked around, almost nobody even remembers the original. And, after watching it again I can see room for improvements (though I still give it a B+).

Also, the cast is great. Hollywood has been doing remakes since movies have existed, so this is no surprise. They're doing this one right.

Like the poster. I wouldn't worry about the lack of Tenant either, they will release a full trailer focusing more on him at some point.

Poster is hot. Trailer is edited terribly. Gives away all of the good action moments and doesn't even elude to one of the key elements of the original story: David Tennant's character's relationship with Charlie!

Looks okey! Poster looks good! I didnt find it scary enough thou. There was more action than scary moments. Specially Farrell wasnt as scary as Sarandon was.
Hope we see him turn into his true vampire form!:) Maybe then he is more scarier.

@Tea, I've got your point, but let's see... [frick] this "future viewers" thing, I mean, we were future viewers of The Godfather, Taxi Driver, Ben Hur, etc, etc... just because that, they did remakes of those classics for us? Hell no! 'cause do not need that, they're fine! Sure, I'm not comparing Fright Night to those films I mentioned, but you understand what I'm saying?
Bobby2889
Bobby2889 - 5/13/2011, 11:55 AM
I've never seen the original but I'll watch this. So there you go it has worked. Thats exactly why reboots happen
PapaEmeritus
PapaEmeritus - 5/13/2011, 11:59 AM
@tea, about the test of time thing, I think don't need this either, 'cause some films are products of an age! I mean, would be much better if they make an original titled movie instead of put the original title. It's just stupid, 'cause our generation will always prefer the original.

The original is a classic but I'm not really sure what to think of this yet. Also it's good to see that Colin Farrell has somewhat perfected his American accent

At least Colin Farrell wasn't wearing a turtleneck...

Oh, and the chic playing Amy is actually hot enough to risk your life for this time around.

And this comes from someone who watches the original and sequel twice a month.
