Say what you want about their films, but if there is one advantage the DCEU has had over Marvel since their now-soon-to-be-rebooted universe kicked off in 2013, it was their talented ability to craft astonishingly comic accurate superhero suits for the big screen.
Most notably Superman in Man of Steel, and both Batman and Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Wonder Woman. However, Jason Momoa's Aquaman has never been neglected by filmmakers, when in fact, his character might possibly helm one of the greatest live-action and comic-accurate superhero suits so far.
While Aquamans solo film's suit was perfection, new concept art has been revealed for Zack Snyders Justice League; showing an alternate design for Aquaman, which would have debuted the Atlantean's comic accurate suit more early on in the DCEU.
Although not entirely similar to what Jason Momoa had worn in Aquaman, this design is still very eye-catching and accurate, for the only real difference between the two is the concept art introduces a purple coloring apparent only on the Atlantean's belt and legs, and a noticable absence of the iconic green gloves.
But still:
With Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom releasing in a little over 2-months, the King of Atlantis will return in all his comic-accurate glory to stop the vengeful Black Manta.
Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom releases in theaters on December 20th, 2023.
After failing to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta wields the power of the mythic Black Trident to unleash an ancient and malevolent force. Hoping to end his reign of terror, Aquaman forges an unlikely alliance with his brother, Orm, the former king of Atlantis. Setting aside their differences, they join forces to protect their kingdom and save the world from irreversible destruction.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC character Aquaman.
