Deadline reports that Journey 2: The Mysterious Island director Brad Peyton will rewrite and direct Lobo for Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment. Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman are set to produce. This will come as good news for comic book fans who have been hoping that the studio would start bringing more than just the likes of Batman and Superman to the big screen. There's no word on a release date just yet, but stay tuned to CBM for further details over the coming weeks and months.

To be fair, though, it's not surprising that WB wanted Peyton to direct another one of their films after how successful Journey 2 was.

Wait so... Lobo gets his own flick before Wonder Woman? Is DC even trying to set up a Justice League?

Journey 2 successful? Lobo is cool but why now? They're focus should be on flash gl and wonderwoman and getting those properties which are relevant for a jla movie. Fail WB you suck. Guarantee this will be a Shitty February release like ghost rider and jona hex

I never understood why companies would want to put their lesser characters onscreen before doing so with the more established recognizable ones, in this case Lobo before Wonder Woman. I'd like to see a live action Lobo, just dont get the strategy.

As much as I like Lobo, and like my pal IM53 said, he's a badass; he shouldn't get a film before The Flash or WW.

WB is seriously going about it the wrongway. I hope I'm proven wrong, but WW & The Flash deserve justice before anybody else.
