I have always had a noble and honest spirit, intolerant towards injustice and abuses of power. Despite being transformed into a perfect human by the Super Soldier Serum, I maintained my original spirit and character, often resulting goofy and shy, even in my new shape. In The Avengers, I seem to have change a bit since my reawakening, becoming somewhat weary of this new time but I still seem to be the same man as I was in the 1940s.
As a Super Soldier, I possess peak human abilities, such as formidable strength, speed, agility, stamina, dexterity and reflexes, as well as a healing factor that prevents me from being drunk. I am an expert in combat. As a weapon of choice, I use a Vibranium special shield
