In my last article I said mentioned that people complain that Captain America First Avenger and THOR felt as though they were "rushed". Let's start with Captain America.
The mantage in Captain America showed some of his side adventures. The writers of the sequel say they will want to come back to those and use them to introduce new villains. So lets just say the movie doesn't end the way it actually does. What other villain could they have used? Its so easy to say Baron Zemo. But I like him so lets just put him in anyway. It would make sense to me for the Red Skull to have supervillans in charge of the HYDRA factories. Baron Zemo could be in charge of one. Arnim Zola another. Have Madame HYDRA in another. I like her for this because it would give Peggy more of a chance to kick butt. Who of us doesn't enjoy a good fight. Especially with Hayley Atwell in the mix. We could get more of a chance to explore they're relationship. But to me it feels kind of right to have a trilogy dedicated to Capt's WW2 adventures. Having the last movie revolve around him and Red Skull. If you have any ideas comment.
Thor is very intresting to explore. For Capt. its just going to different to countries. With Thor you have whole worlds. If Loki wasn't the main villain in Thor it would be appropriate for Ymir to be an added villain. Someone in the Frost Giant kingdom who would want to eusurpt Laufey's kingship. And we can go into the severe consequences of Thor displaying Odin. I hear that people feel that Thor and Jane's relationship in THOR seems forced. I never felt that there was this "I can't live without you love" that people make it out to be. To me its more of a guy finding this girl he likes, and wanting to have a relationship with her. Its safe to say we've all been there. We see someone we find attractive we get to spend time with them and we then wanna pursue a relationship with them. However I do feel that kiss seemed to me more for the benefit of the actors than an emotional moment. I would like to have seen because of Thor being on Earth how his villains would respond to it. Like the synopsis says an invasion force is sent to kill Thor. I thought that the Frost Giants found out Thor was powerless and tried to kill him on Earth. But all we get is the Destoryer. Saving Loki to eventually go bad by the last movie. Maybe even having him cause Ragnarok. Maybe by unleashing Mangog. I know I'm dragging on but there are many possibilities. But they are things that can be used in their sequels anyway. Again if you have any ideas put them in the comments, there can never be to much Fan Fic.

I didn't feel Thor was rushed - except in the terms of his character growth.

If he is roughly the same age as Loki (as the film suggests) then that would make Thor over 1000 years old. And yet it takes less than three days for him to suddenly work out that being an arrogant warrior is not always a good thing?? Are you saying this has never occurred to him before in all his long life???

And as for the snog - Jane should have kiss him when he died for a bit of emotional punch.

CA:TFA really suffered with that montage - though I understand why they did it and made the most of an awkward job. I think if they do expand on Caps story they will do it mainly in the modern day but may have a flashback scene to WWII to set things up. Will be veru interesting to see how The Avengers ends and how the heroes go their seperate ways.

Thor and Cap really suffers in terms of timing.

Thor was great in Asgard, then he went to Earth and all seriousness went out the window. Maybe if they put more growth on Thor becoming "humane" and less Darcy, then the movie would've been as good as Iron Man. Cap with the CGI and that montage really dragged the movie. And those HYDRA suits really looked cheesey. I wanted a WWII movie!

As for sequels, Thor II needs to explore the other realms and go on an adventure. Cap is tricky, I kinda want them to go back then I see it as a waste of time.

I want Cap 2 to be him vs. AIM or something, in modern times. I would be okay with a sequel taking place in WWII, but like dmm5 said, it seems like a waste of time.

They could actually tackle both at once and make Baron Zemo the villain, and have periodic flashbacks of them facing off in WWII. Baron Zemo really would be the next logical villain for a Cap movie anyway. His other villains tend to be a little silly.

I still cringe at the Captain America montage. Loved the movie that was a problem for me. Thats the bad part of origin movies, though.

bangin out the articles on that cell phone. paragraphs are cool.

I agree with Ghostf about the problem with origin stories. Especially for the fans of the characters who know the whole bio it's kind of boring and usually they try to cram to much stuff into one movie which I think is why they feel "rushed". I think both movies did a really good job trying to do the right thing by the characters in terms of their history. The montage in Cap was weak but they couldn't expand on all those fights and still have him crash into the Arctic & wake up 70 years later. They would've had to save the latter part for a sequel which of course they couldn't do because of Avengers. I like WW2 Cap but personally I don't mind them skipping thru all of that and getting him into the 21st century. It will be easier for audiences to identify and will play a large part in the development of Cap with the whole "fish out of water" mind state. Also let's be real Cap dominated all those battles. At that time no one was around with kind of power he had so seeing those storylines would be pointless. It would just be a movie of him fighting HYDRA henchmen.
