In case you weren't already aware, here is a basic synopsis from creator Mark Millar about the concept of the series, which is set to be adapted to the big screen by director Nacho Vigalondo. While we've seen a handful of the following pieces of concept art before, here is the full set featuring all of the characters who will appear in the series. Any ideas for which actors would be the best choice to play them? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

"This is another one of those really simple concepts – all the superheroes live in America, so why do the supervillains always commit crimes in Metropolis, Gotham City, or Star City? Why don’t they just go somewhere where there are no superheroes? It would make life an awful lot easier for them. I remember thinking that if I was the Joker or the Mirror Master or someone, I think I’d head for somewhere like Glasgow, where the worst thing that will happen is being chased by a fat cop. That’s the idea of it really, only I thought I’d make it a bit more exotic, so I ended up making it Spain instead. So a bunch of supervillains head for Spain for one last job, for a heist. And I love heist movies – I’ve always wanted to do a ‘men on a mission’ story with supervillains. So the idea is a bunch of super-villains get together to pull off one last job; the biggest job of their career."

Fantastic artist. And Millar knows how to keep the money rollin' in and the ideas flowing out. Creative genius.

I like the designs, but it's another of Mark Millar's "Okay, so Kick Ass is SuperHEROES in the real world, so this will be my SuperVILLIANS in the real world". He did it with Nemesis and now this. Has he forgotten Wanted? That was his take on Supervillians. And that was good. Nemesis was enjoyable, but not so exciting that they should make a movie of it. I love Millar, but I'm starting to think he peaked with Kick Ass.
