Last month, I posted a series of cryptic teaser images for Mark Millar and Lenil Francis Yu's, Superior. At that time we knew nothing about the upcoming series, but Millar has now revealed a whole host of info about what we can expect!
According to Bleeding Cool, the series will focus on a 13-year-old boy with Multiple Sclerosis who transforms into an "an adult overpowered" hero. "Superior is in a lot of ways is the project I’ve wanted to write my entire life. It’s everything I love about those big bombastic kind of Superman/Captain Marvel heroes," Millar said.
"It’s got a lot of heart as well as the usual insane amount of violence. What I suppose I’ve done here really is kind of Marvelize Superman." And as for who we can expect to see this 'Marvelised Superman' face off against, below is Abraxas who Millar describes as "Darkseid Meets Brainiac Meets Darth Vader!"
Of course, it's worth remembering that Millar sold the movie rights to Kick-Ass before the comic book series was even finished and with a sequel in both print and film on the way (as well as rumours that the writer is considering sending his and Steve McNiven's Nemesis to the big screen at some point) it seems likely that Superior could be one of the next comic books we'll be heading out to watch at the cinema in a few years time!
