Alright, here we are again. The eagerly-awaited issue two of Gangsters and Goliaths is here. I gave the first issue a great review, does this one continue the greatness? Read on.

Heh, you have to wonder why this is a thousand times more high quality than Kingdom of Monsters. For KOM, it feels like they just slapped in a bunch of random ideas each issue, then grab some real-world players and put them in. Gangsters and Goliaths feels much different, it feels like they pre-planned everything, it's flowing much smoother and has a REAL ongoing plot.

Detective Sato has a plan.....to bring down the Japanese crime empire, and he wants to use Mothra for it. Mothra gets a big role here, in fact, she's the only monster to appear. (Aside from a brief flashback by Godzilla.)

Detective Sato is an interesting character, and he has to be, since he's taking up most of the screen time. That's the one problem I have with this issue; not enough monster scenes and Mothra is the only monster to get a real appearance. (Again, aside from a brief flashback by the big G.) Thankfully, the plot is interesting enough.

This feels like a movie, as it should be. The dialogue is high class, unlike Kingdom of Monsters. "Mothra. I want an audience with her." I really like that.

Mothra is looking mighty impressive, gone are the days when she was known as one of the weaker monsters, she's really showing her power here.

The art is great, improving upon the last. The humans look less sketchy.

In closing, while this might not be as fun as the last issue, it's still a good comic. It's putting Kingdom of Monsters to shame.

I give this issue a 7/10.

Good review dude. I agree that this is indeed much better quality than KOM, but I'm hoping they eventually get thier act together on the Mainstream one and make it on the same caliber as G&G

Thanks man, IDW better pick up the slack. If King Ghidorah really comes next issue, it could save the series.
