In response to the Ebert negativity on this site that has people blasting the cinema world's most famous movie critic - I thought I'd show you a quick rundown of his past resume when it comes to reviewing many beloved Comic Book Inspired films.
Don't be so quick to hate on the guy - so what - he didn't like KickAss - that wont stop me from seeing it. 4 stars is a perfect rating by the way...Just incase you didn't know...
Watchmen - 4 Stars
"The film is rich enough to be seen more than once. I plan to see it again, this time on IMAX, and will have more to say about it. I’m not sure I understood all the nuances and implications, but I am sure I had a powerful experience. It’s not as entertaining as “The Dark Knight,” but like the “Matrix” films, LOTR and “The Dark Knight,” it’s going to inspire fevered analysis. I don’t want to see it twice for that reason, however, but mostly just to have the experience again." - Ebert
The Dark Knight - 4 Stars
"Something fundamental seems to be happening in the upper realms of the comic-book movie. “Spider-Man II” (2004) may have defined the high point of the traditional film based on comic-book heroes. A movie like the new “Hellboy II” allows its director free rein for his fantastical visions. But now “Iron Man” and even more so “The Dark Knight” move the genre into deeper waters. They realize, as some comic-book readers instinctively do, that these stories touch on deep fears, traumas, fantasies and hopes. And the Batman legend, with its origins in film noir, is the most fruitful one for exploration." - Ebert
Iron Man - 4 Stars
"At the end of the day it 's Robert Downey Jr. who powers the lift-off separating this from most other superhero movies. You hire an actor for his strengths, and Downey would not be strong as a one-dimensional mighty-man. He is strong because he is smart, quick and funny, and because we sense his public persona masks deep private wounds. By building on that, Favreau found his movie, and it's a good one." - Ebert
Hellboy - 3.5 Stars
Hellboy II - 3.5 Stars
"And once again a strong performance by Ron Perlman as Hellboy. Yes, he's CGI for the most part, but his face and voice and movements inhabit the screen figure, and make him one of the great comic heroes. Del Toro, who preceded "Hellboy II" with "Pan's Labyrinth" (2006) and the underrated "Blade II" (2002), is warming up now for "Doctor Strange" and "The Hobbit." He has an endlessly inventive imagination, and understands how legends work, why they entertain us and that they sometimes stand for something." - Ebert
Spiderman - 2.5 Stars
Spiderman 2 - 4 Stars
Spiderman 3 - 2 Stars
""Spider-Man 3" is, in short, a mess. Too many villains, too many pale plot strands, too many romantic misunderstandings, too many conversations, too many street crowds looking high into the air and shouting "oooh!" this way, then swiveling and shouting "aaah!" that way. And saints deliver us from another dinner date like the one where Peter plans to propose to Mary Jane. You know a movie is in trouble when the climactic romantic scene of the entire series is stolen by the waiter (Bruce Campbell)." - Ebert
Blade - 3 Stars
Blade 2 - 3.5 Stars
Blade 3 - 1.5 Stars

He's usually right on the money.......Just because he doesn't like Kick Ass doesn't mean we should bash the guy - he's usually very much in tune with the comic book movie world and gets it right most of the time.
And now you know.....Now you know.
