Fantastic Four's Thing to be a new Superdad on TV

I guess Michael Chiklis can't get enough of being in a Superhero Family...

Michael Chiklis known to us CBMers as Aunt Petunia's favorite nephew - The everlovable Thing. Is in a new TV pilot where he will play a superdad in a superhero drama on ABC called No Ordinary Family.

The potential TV series borrows themes from Pixar's The Incredibles. In the show Chiklis plays the father of an American super family who all have unique abilities.

The Show, No Ordinary Family is being written by Greg Berlanti (Eli Stone) and Jon Feldman (Tru Calling) and comes from ABC Studios.

This might be good, but I'd rather they get established superheroes then turn them in to TV shows.

I thought Chiklis was good in the Fantastic Four films. I'm not opposed to the reboot of the franchise, though. I think they should take some ideas from the unreleased "Fantastic Four" film, (from '94), and apply it to the new entry. Here's who I would cast:

C. Thomas Howell as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic
Naomi Watts as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman
Chad Michael Murray as Johnny Storm/Human Torch
David Morse as Ben Grimm/The Thing

and finally:

Jason Issacs as Victor Von Doom/Dr. Doom

Sweet, if it gets picked up I'll give it a go.

PS is it just a pilot or a series?

Well I hope that it does become a series, the more superhero related tv shows there are the more likely our favourite comic book characters will get shows developed about them.

This sounds like a throw back to all the zany shit they put on TV when I was a kid. But in an age of crappy "reality" shows, where, at least in North America, people can't get enough of watching drama craving delinquents and retards do idiotic stuff that there is very little room for fun TV.

The idea itself may already have missed its chance to make any impact, but we'll see.

Chiklis was a great Thing and I'd vote he return to voice a fully CGI Thing in the reboot. What was with the paper wrist watch in FF:RotSS?

Seeing as how Disney owns ABC, you'd think the network would be more interested in developing shows based on Marvel characters.

I too would watch this. He was great in FF and if you watch the behind the scenes (yes I have the DVD's) he really got into character and cared too. He was awesome on The Shield, so I will give anything he is in a chance.
