Honest Trailers: Christopher Nolan's INCEPTION

The Screen Junkies lads have delved into Christopher Nolan's back catalog for their latest Honest Trailer, which takes a few swipes as the critically acclaimed, but somewhat fan-dividing sci-fi flick, Inception. Check out the video after the jump..

Personally I love Inception. I don't know if it's quite as clever as it thinks it is - or some fans seem to think it is for that matter - but I don't care, it's a damn entertaining movie. That being said, the following "honest trailer" is just as sharp and funny as the other ones, whether you happen to like the movie or not..

In a world where technology exists to enter the human mind through dream invasion, a highly skilled thief is given a final chance at redemption which involves executing his toughest job to date: Inception.

That last part... "If Cobb can't enter the country, couldn't Michael Caine just fly the kids out to him?"
That just made most of the plot redundant...

Damn it! They've just ruined my favourite film for me D:

@Mucklefluga. Yeah, nothing says idyllic childhood than constantly running from interpol with a father who may or may not have killed your mother...

And yes, if anyone has watched that trailer I'll assume they've seen the movie.

Haters, say all you want but Chris Nolan is one of the very few intellectual directors who could pull off such a film without making it a disaster. Imagine what would have happened if Michael Bay directed it. It would have been a full-on action movie with lame one-liners here and there and it also wouldn't have the depth in the characters and plots. Even Joss Whedon couldn't pull off such a film. So don't give the lame excuse that Whedon>Nolan.
This is coming from a guy who didn't think once about which was the better film between TDKR and The Avengers. It's obviously the latter. So don't kill me for posting such a comment.
My friend @thewonderer ain't I right?

Great movie :) The kids were probably under some sort of surveillance or something - if they were leaving the country they would've been tracked leading to Cobb. This was ok, not their best Honest Trailer.

he whole "why didn't he bring the kids to him" thing makes for a good punchline but as a serious critique of the film it's completely redundant - the point was that Cobb wanted to return HOME and couldn't, I'm sure he considered the option of his kids coming to him and growing up with a nomadic criminal and dismissed it!

"I enjoyed Inception.

But, like most of Nolan's films, its dramatic and intellectual level is substantially lower than it pretends it is."

Word.

They couldn't just fly the kids out. If the police are looking for a murderer I'm sure flying his kids out of the country would raise some red flags and make it easier to track and extradite him. Not to mention I don't think they would make the process of obtaining passports for kids to meet their murdering father an easy one. Just saying

I like the movie, but this was actually fairly funny. But like others have said, this isn't their best work and the voice they had before this was much better
