Michael Keaton Wins Best Actor In A Comedy/Musical For BIRDMAN

CBM didn't have many horses in the Golden Globes race, but we did cover Alejandro González Iñárritu's brilliantly strange Birdman, for which former Batman Michael Keaton picked up a best actor gong tonight. Click on for a full list of the winners..

Michael Keaton has always been a CBM fan-favourite, and most of us were delighted to see him return to the big screen for a leading role in Birdman, playing an actor best known for starring as winged superhero in a series of blockbusters. Though Alejandro González Iñárritu's flick lost out to Grand Budapest Hotel in the best motion picture musical or comedy category, Keaton did pick up the award for best actor. In his speech he thanked his director, stating “there’s not a person in this room who won’t show up for your next gig, my brother.” He then thanked his family and friends “all over the world,” choking up as he mentioned his very best friend: his son, Sean. Amy Adams (Man Of Steel) also won for best actress in a comedy/musical, and Julianne Moore (The Hunger Games) picked up the award for best actress in a drama. The Lego Movie and Big Hero 6 lost out to How To Train Your Dragon 2 for best animated feature, however. Did you watch the Golden Globes? Happy with the winners? Think anyone was snubbed? I have not seen the movie yet, but i'm really glad he won the Globe.
Doesn't mean he will get the Oscar though.
Bill Murray lost to Sean Penn in 2004.

I think Gone Girl was a good movie but it's not an award winning one. It's solid.
Just soild.

Pike was really good, but is it an Oscar worthy performance ? Don't think so.
(still Oscars don't mean that much anymore. I think Globes are better)

Still i have to watch Nightcrawler, Birdman. Boyhood probably (Patricia Arquette is in it)

I'm glad JK Simmons won for Whiplash. Such a great movie! He'll probably get the oscar as well! Not bad J Johan Jameson. Not bad.

Still have no interest in seeing 'Birdman'. Wish I did... but I guess I'll see it when it's on the freebie TV.

'American Sniper'? Shiiitttt yeah. Can't wait for that.

I have a feeling WB/DC are gonna pick up Michael Keaton to re-enter their universe. Maybe not as a superhero, but as a father figure type.

Or...a villain? Dare I say...Darkseid?

2 days from now and Michael Keaton cellphone won't stop ringing.
There will be many propositions, much more if he will win the Oscar.
Let him choose wisely.

Fargo and True Detective are both great, happy if either won although I give slight edge to True Detective.

What does piss me off is that Cumberbatch didn't win for The Imitation Game. Just saw it today, fantastic film, but he's particularly great in it.

Ah well, when I hold the 1st Annual Hulksta Awards we'll do things my way.

Imitation Game should have won best picture. And Cumberbatch should have won best actor.

I'm sure playwrights enjoyed the film, but I sure couldn't relate.

I found Birdman to be very, very pretentious and dull. I did like Keaton in the role, so good job!

AMEN!

Also, it's completely an anti-CBM, a CBM bashfest. If there was a Golden Globe for Most Pretentious, then no contest.
