Rise of the Apes Has a New Title

20th Century Fox will be releasing the prequel/reboot to the Planet of the Apes franchise this August. Apparently marketing studies found the best response has been to Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which absolutely makes it sound like part of the original cycle of five films.

Rise of POTA stars James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Andy Serkis and Brian Cox. It's directed by Rupert Wyatt, and offers a look at apes ascension to power in quite a different way from the original, involving genetic experimentation.
