Ewan McGregor Plays Down OBI-WAN KENOBI Movie Rumors; Praises THE LAST JEDI As "Beautiful"

Following his Golden Globes acceptance speech tonight, Ewan McGregor was asked about the recent reports that Disney/Lucasfilm had an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie in the works, and he said it was "just talk"...

We found out last year that an Obi-Wan Kenobi standalone film was in development, but despite showing up to The Golden Globes sporting a very familiar-looking beard, Ewan McGregor has played down rumors that he'll be reprising the role.

The actor, who won an award for his performance in season 3 of Fargo, reiterated that he would be up for returning as the Jedi Master after bringing the younger version of the character to life many years ago in the Prequels, but maintains that for the time being it's just "a lot of talk."

MvGregor has seen The Last Jedi, though, and was full of praise for the latest Star Wars flick.

What do you guys make of McGregor's comments? Is he just playing coy? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.

Hopefully it happens, but as a Logan/Unforgiven-esque film.
He's the perfect age for it now.

I know Stephen Daldry has been working on a potential film, but imagine an Obi-Wan film from:
John Hillcoat (Lawless, The Road)
Taylor Sheridan (Hell or High Water, Sicario, Wind River)
Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart, Black Mass, Out of the Furnace, Hostiles)
or even James Mangold

@ELAYEM - I want one from Taylor Sheridan or James Mangold from that list.

@HeavyMetal4Life - I just hope if this movie is made it's not another $250 million film.
This is the type of film that a small budget would actually benefit, and focus on character over set-pieces and action.

@ELAYEM - Totally agree. I can see a 100 million tops budget for this film. You don't need a lot of locations.
