With recent reports suggesting a possible $130 million to $150 million opening weekend for J.A. Bayona's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, it sounds like it's going to be a very good summer for our prehistoric friends as they find themselves up against another extinction-level threat.
While tracking this far out tends to be on the conservative side, it should be noted that these early projections are definitely promising, especially considering that the first Jurassic World was only tracking for a possible $115 million to $135 million opening the week of release. However, as we know now, that film managed to destroy expectations and ultimately claimed the record for the biggest opening weekend of all-time. It'll obviously be tough to repeat that performance, but with the current estimations, it certainly has an outside shot of at least matching its previous effort.
