Universal's JURASSIC WORLD Sequel Adds Former SPIDER-MAN 3 Actor James Cromwell
Spider-Man 3's Captain Stacy is heading to Jurassic World, as Academy Award-nominated actor James Cromwell has reportedly joined the cast of the eagerly awaited J.A. Bayona-directed sequel.
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that James Cromwell has joined the cast of Universal Pictures' upcoming Jurassic World sequel - a move that will reunite him with his former on-screen daughter Bryce Dallas Howard, who played the Gwen Stacy to his Captain Stacy in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3. Details about his Jurassic role and/or about the film's plot weren't provided.
Cromwell is now the latest actor to join this ever-growing cast, following Toby Jones (Captain America: The First Avenger), Rafe Spall (Life of Pi), Justice Smith (The Get Down), Daniella Pineda (The Originals), and Ted Levine (Monk). They'll all join returning stars Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2), Bryce Dallas Howard (Black Mirror), and B.D. Wong (Gotham) for the next adventure in the land of the prehistoric.
J.A. Bayona is helming (A Monster Calls, The Impossible) the highly anticipated project with a script from original Jurassic World scribes, Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly.
Production is expected to begin this Spring in England, which should give it ample time to be ready for its June 22, 2018 release date.
Cromwell's illustrious career spans over fifty years. His more notable credits include Babe (for which he earned an Academy Award nomination), Eraser, L.A. Confidential, The Green Mile, The Sum of All Fears, I, Robot, The Longest Yard, Six Feet Under, Spider-Man 3, 24, American Horror Story (for which he won a Primetime Emmy), Big Hero 6. He can be seen next in HBO's The Young Pope, and the biopic Marshall.
