Set against the thrilling and exotic backdrop of a “galaxy far, far away,” Star Wars is perfectly suited to the immersive 3D theatrical experience, and Episode I delivers some of the Saga’s most stunning and spectacular sequences – from the Naboo invasion to the Tatooine Podraces to the climactic lightsaber battle between Darth Maul and the Jedi. Supervised by Industrial Light & Magic, the meticulous conversion is being done with utmost respect for the source material, and with a keen eye for both technological considerations and artistic intentions.

How about Lucas allow someone else to make a new Star Wars movie instead of giving us the same old movies over and over again. Star Trek had a reboot, why can't Star Wars? Admittedly, I've always been more of a Fanboy than a Trekkie, but I want some new story lines and new movies. This animated stuff that he's been giving us is kinda boring. I love the games, but would like a new movie. At least one. Please, George, give us a new movie...just don't direct or produce it yourself a la Empire Strikes Back & Return of the Jedi ^_^

Are they touching up on all the CGI? I was a little disappointed to find that the CGI from the Blu Ray's of the entire saga was more or less the same from when they were released.

Isn't Darth Maul awesome? His 7 minutes of screen time was by far the highlight of my TPM experience.

Oh Darth Maul, you could have been so much more. But Lucas wanted Christopher Lee for part 2 :(

I aint seeing these at all, whats the point of bringing the blu-rays out then bringing it out in 3D,if anything the whole SAGA should be remade by ANYONE other than lucas,I just cant watch all 6 seriously because of the difference in cgi, jedi fights, just the whole look of both films in general dont match no matter what he changes he makes

UGH [frick] this I'm not going to watch this movie again. I'm pretty pissed off that it's so long until Star Wars (I mean the very first one. Eff that "A New Hope") comes out in 3D. I might go see Episode III. Maybe.

The People v.s. George Lucas how can one man be a genius and a tool all at one time perhaps being wrapped up in his own self importance did him in and alas did in the Star Wars franchise but I still have my VHS copies to watch one unopened copy and one slightly used if I want to see the original unedited versions.

Lucas will never let another movie get made and his family is so wrapped into the kool-aid that they probably won't either.

Lucas was never a genius, he got lucky making something made from a lot of stolen ideas from stuff he liked and the main story from a Japanese Director Hollywood had been stealing from for years (Akira Kurosawa). Lucky for him John Dykstra reinvented special FX by connecting a computer to a camera and gave the movie something truly special in visuals for its time and even more lucky for him John Williams was inspired with his delivery of the Soundtrack. Also extremely lucky for him Richard Chew, Marcia Lucas and Paul Hirsch re-edited the mess he first put together to show Fox executives and his director buddies at home into a less tedious to watch version than he originally presented.

As time went by his true colours began to show once he took complete control of the creative process and surrounded himself with yes men to produce more and more crappy Star Wars films after Irvin Kershner and co took the material to gloriously unattainable heights with The Empire Strikes Back, to be sure its like will never be seen again!

TPM is and always will be shite, turning it into 3D does not change the quality of the film and anyone paying to see it again is the reason Lucas laughs himself to sleep every night!

Talk about milking a franchise.......my guess is that this 3D version will be the original film and 2 years from now the Phantom Edit 3D version will be out to screw over more fans.

I can't wait to read that no one's going to see this. An animated lion fared better upon re-release in 3D.
