I am totally in the minority here, but I actually really like the title because it shows the connection to the older films and feels a little more grand to me. It's not just the rise of the apes, but the rise of the PLANET of the apes.

I dunno, it makes sense in my head, haha.

If you don't look the title that means you must not have ever watched any of the original 5, which this is sort of a prequel to. Pity.

@ JR

YOu and I can find something to rise about LOL!!

Stop using "The Confessions Of A", "The Rise of", "X-Men Origins:...", etc. It's repetative, it's just dumb.

The make up/effects have never been a problem with this series (discounting the dreadful gorilla suit used in 'Escape from the Planet of the Apes' and the full head masks used for background extras to safe money in the final films. The problem has ALWAYS been the scripts, from the first sequel on. Pierre Boule's orinal concept was an exploration of racial conflict. That resonates with everyone. That makes it topical and REAL - which will bring in a fresh teenage audience - whom, I'm sure, the producers want to pay money to see their film. Racism never goes away. It needs to be seen from an unbiast perspective. Making the down trodden characters Apes, let's us see rascism from a completely ouside view. That's the reason the best of the original 5 films have become 'classics', NOT the make-up or effects.
