According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Kenneth Williams is in negotiations to join the already very impressive cast of Jose Padilha's remake of '80s sci-fi classic Robocop. The site report that "Williams will play the partner to Kinnaman’s police officer Alex Murphy who is tight with Murphy’s family.". This would suggest that his character will replace Officer Anne Lewis, Murphy/Robocop's partner and only friend, played so memorably by Nancy Allen in the original. Williams' most famous role was that of gay stick-up-man Omar Little in the HBO series, The Wire. He also plays Chalky White in Boardwalk Empire.
