Thanks to BoxOfficeMojo, the day that we all saw coming since Josh Wilding's recent article, The Dark Knight has been overthrown by the infamous prequel. Not only has it surpassed it, it booted it out of the top ten highest grossing films of all time list.

At $1,004,013,029, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace clearly outdoes The Dark Knight's $1,001,921,825. This means that, for the first time in 4 years, a superhero film is not in the Top 10 highest grossing films. Perhaps The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man, or even TDK's sequel will reclaim said spot?
