Rumored Runtime For STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI Points To It Being The Longest Saga Movie To Date
It's clear Star Wars: The Last Jedi is going to be a big movie but a new report points to the Rian Johnson helmed release is reportedly the longest instalment in the franchise to date. Read on for details!
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is shaping up to be the biggest instalment of the franchise to date as Luke Skywalker finally returns to the big screen after his brief cameo in The Force Awakens. Rian Johnson is at the helm of the already completed sequel and we're less than three months away from it finally reaching theaters. Now, if a new report is to be believed, the movie will be a pretty damn long one!
A listing on UK cinema chain Cineworld reveals that The Last Jedi is going to be 150 minutes long. While this hasn't been confirmed by Lucasfilm, it makes sense that this information would be out there as the film is in the can and ready to go. This news makes the movie the longest in the franchise to date too.
Attack of the Clones previously held that crown with a runtime of 142 minutes, while The Force Awakens was 135 minutes and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was 133 minutes. The Last Jedi needs to be long with all the story it's expected to pack in, especially as Johnson's movie will set the stage for J.J. Abrams' highly anticipated return when he takes the helm of Episode IX. What do you guys think?
