James Cameron & Tim Miller's TERMINATOR Sequel Moves Back Four Months To November 2019

Paramount has just announced that Tim Miller's upcoming Terminator sequel, which has James Cameron involved for the first time since 1991, has been moved back four months from Summer to Fall 2019.

After being initially slated for July 26, 2019, Paramount and Skydance have officially decided to push back their upcoming Terminator sequel four months to November 22, 2019.

A reason for the delay wasn't provided, but the studios have insisted that the delay had nothing to do with 70-year-old star Arnold Schwarzenegger's recent open-heart surgery. If that's the case, then we can likely attribute the delay to possibly needing extra time to further develop the script and/or to finalize the cast.

Tim Miller (Deadpool) is set to direct with James Cameron (Terminator 2: Judgment Day) returning to the franchise as a producer, making it the first Terminator film in over twenty-five years that Cameron has been directly involved in developing.

T2 stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton will both reprise their iconic roles as the T-800 and Sarah Connor, respectively. This will be the first time the pair has worked with Cameron since 1991 when they set the box office ablaze with one of the biggest sci-fi blockbusters of our generation. As for the newcomers, only Mackenzie Davis (Blade Runner 2049) has joined the cast so far, reportedly as one of the new faces of the franchise.

The tentatively titled, Untitled Terminator Project, now moves from an extremely action-heavy July that will see the release of Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel (July 5), Tom Cruise's Top Gun: Maverick (July 12), Disney's The Lion King (July 19), and Universal's Hobbs & Shaw (July 26) to a slightly less crowded November that will feature the releases of Warner Bros.' Wonder Woman 2 (Nov. 1), MGM's Bond 25 (Nov. 8), and Disney's Frozen 2 (Nov. 27).

Might have to sell some more kidneys if I want to see most of those films next year.

@ChangAlang - Or get MoviePass

@ChangAlang - Yeah dude. Moviepass is like $9.99 a month. The wife and I get a lot of mileage out of it. You can watch one movie per day if you want at no extra cost.

@DanJack

I live in New Zealand and we don’t have MoviePass. But, due to competition my local cinema had to reduce their prices to $10NZD a movie (2D) rather than up to $18+ in some parts of the Auckland and I don’t go all that often anyway.

Thank you for the suggestion though😊

@ChangAlang - Yeah for sure. That’s a bummer man.

If this movie isn’t good, they really need to leave it alone for a while...maybe like 10 or 15 years and then reboot it.

@superbigguy32 -

After T3 to TG I would be really apprehensive and not excited at all, but I have hope mainly because Cameron is involved.
Also what drugs was the person on who cast Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese?

@SimplyAz - Right, I enjoyed The Sarah Conor Chronicles and Salvation (aside from the original and T2) better than the movies.

@superbigguy32 - Instead of setting up ANOTHER trilogy, focus on making this a conclusion. The powers that be seem to not realize diminishing returns is in effect. Stop leaving us hanging thinking the mainstream wants to see the "next chapter".

@SimplyAz - Boyd Holbrook was an infinitely better choice.

@superbigguy32 - By the way, nice series of gifs. Unpopular opinion, but T1 is still my fave. :)

@superbigguy32 -

I would rush home from work to catch Sarah Conor Chronicles, the good thing was I worked with my friend and she was a massive Terminator fan as well and loved it.

If moving it back a few months means it will be a better film, then I'm all for this. Good news is this is no cause for concern.
