It honestly doesn't look like a good movie. The original two are classics.

The terminator franchise should have ended after T2.

Rumor has it that the movie totally blows.

Any truth to that?

Am I the only person that wasn't impressed by that trailer during the Superbowl. I don't know why, but I have zero interest in this. Yes, I realize the irony of commenting about a movie I have no interest in.

Looking forward to this but am being realistic and know that it will not be as good as the first two. But I hope that it is at least a good film and not as bad as Terminator 3 and Salvation.

Not much news today.

I hope this is better than Salvation. I really, REALLY hated Salvation. Even Rise Of The Machines was FAR better than that shit.

Salvation was part shitty generic action movie, part Transformers movie, with completely wooden characters. The dialogue was unmemorable and it had virtually no violence in it (so kids could see it). It was dull, boring, uninteresting and grey.

Rise Of The Machines was nowhere near as good as the previous two masterpieces, as it had its own problems but at least I partly enjoyed it. Salvation was something else. It has no redeemable qualities whatsoever and is a turgid piece of shitty gunk.

So I'm praying that this is better. It can't get any worse can it? (Don't answer that question, its rhetorical.)

@MrBurns I agree with everything you said about Salvation plus the fact there were a lack of Terminators and there was no tension as it did not feel like anyone was in danger.
T3 was bad but its ending when the missiles rained down was both depressing and fitted in with what the earlier films promised.

I finally get to see an actual terminator movie in 3D. The last time I saw Terminator in 3D was at the Universal Studios theme park.

I had that same mentality when I walked into X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Can't be as bad as The Last Stand, CAN IT???

"Terminator Genisys has been receiving mixed reviews lately after a supposed script found its way online"

Yeah, do you have a source for this? I've only read a few reviews but they have all been very positive.

@fettastic, your assessment of Salvation is spot on; there wasn't enough of a story to pull a movie out of. There were some decent action scenes and I liked some of the camera work but nothing can save a vague story and boring characters.

From script reviews that I have read there are going to be some really interesting plot points with twists and set pieces placed throughout. Its just a matter of how the cast and crew put it all together now.

@fettastic

I don't hate Terminator 3. I know a lot of people do and I recognise it had problems but, (whisper it) I secretly love the whole movie. It's like a guilty pleasure. Except I feel too embarrassed to admit I like it in front of other people who hate it. It was quite funny in parts and I liked the 'hand punch through the chest scene in the car', especially since it made all the kids in the cinema I was in scream (it was rated 12A here in the UK when it was released).

I don't know why people hate it so much. It has a 70% fresh rating on rottentomatoes, while GAYvation, oh sorry, I mean Salvation is rotten at 33%.

Worthington is bloody useless in it, while Bale tries to give the movie some 'credibility'...but doesn't and just makes things worse.

I really can't say how much I hate Salvation (and McG for making it). It deserves to be kicked out of continuity and into the depths of hell so nobody knows it ever existed.
