Kevin Feige Says He "Looks Forward To Speaking" To Adam McKay About That SILVER SURFER Movie
Vice director Adam McKay, who has worked with Marvel Studios in the past, recently expressed interest in helming a Silver Surfer movie, & Kevin Feige commented on the possibility during The Golden Globes.
Vice director Adam McKay expressed interest in taking the helm of a Silver Surfer movie during a recent interview, and while Marvel Studios hasn't regained the rights to utilize Fox's stable of characters just yet, once the deal goes through it sounds like something that could actually happen.
Kevin Feige was asked about McKay's comments while chatting to MTV on the red carpet of last night's Golden Globes, and it definitely seems like he'd be open to discussing the matter further.
“I’ve not gotten a call yet, but I’ve seen Adam tonight and at a number of these awards, he is as everyone knows an incredibly smart guy he’s an honest to goodness fan and you know did a lot of behind the scenes work on the first Ant-Man film and have you seen Vice? A little cameo, a little Galatcus cameo in there that we helped him get. So I look forward to speaking to him more.”
Of course, even if a meeting was held and both parties agreed to toss some ideas around, it'd probably still be a very long time before a Silver Surfer movie would see the light of day. Then again, there's always a chance Feige and co. could decide to focus on certain characters that have been out of the limelight for a while instead of jumping right back in with The X-Men or The Fantastic Four, in which case The Sentinel of the Spaceways would be a great place to start.
What do you guys think? Would you like to see an Adam McKay-directed Silver Surfer movie, or so you think another filmmaker would be better suited to the character? Sound off in the usual place.
