Just over a year ago, Doctors diagnosed young Jayden Wilson, who was 4 at the time, with a grade IV brainstem glioma. It's the most severe malignant brain tumor because these tumors show a very rapid growth. Jayden's parents were told by doctors their son only had about a year to live. Knowing that Jayden's next birthday might also be his last his father, Mike Wilson, decided to make it extra special.
Mike, a parkour enthusiast, dressed up as Jayden's favorite superhero, Spider-Man, and leaped off the roof of their Basingstoke, U.K. home to greet the awestruck child. Mike hid a camera by the front door so that he could capture Jayden's reaction, and then several days ago posted it on YouTube for everyone to enjoy. You can watch the tender father and son moment in the video below.
Jayden's father explained to The Independent why and how he put together this marvelous surprise: “I’ve always been a big Spider-Man fan myself, and Jayden also absolutely loves him. His bedroom is covered in Spider-Man pictures.
“I wanted to surprise him so much with one of his favourite heroes, so I found 2 costume designers, who were up for the challenge. We had the costume printed in America and then got to work putting it together. It was finished about 3 weeks before Jayden's birthday so perfect timing to work out how to surprise him.”
"Today he is still with us fighting it all the way, but at least he has Spider-Man to take care of him," Mike Wilson wrote on YouTube.
