THE AMAZING
SPIDER-MAN
ISSUE 012
The first BIG battle of Spider-Verse continues, and the casualties of battle have already been very serious. With Cosmic-Spidey dead, Earth-13 is no longer a Safe Zone, which means that the Inheritors can do as they please without having to worry about being stopped. But that is NOT the interesting part, the interesting part of all of this is that "Benjy", Spider-Girl's little brother is part of a Prophecy. We do not yet know the details, but the fact that he is still alive means that it could be big.
First Page & Second Page
Just as it seems all hope is lost for the remaining Spider-Totems, Spider-Gwen contacts Spider-UK with some very good news. Reinforcements. Which happen to be a Giant Robot from some alternate Japanese Spider-Man Universe. I seem to remember seeing this type of Spider-Man on YouTube a while ago when I was looking for the Spider-Man 1994-99 series. Apparently in Japan they had a Spidey TV series where he had a Giant Robot much like the one in this issue.
Third Page & Fourth Page
Just as it seems that the Giant Robot could stand a chance against Solus, it's arm is ripped off and the remaining Spider-Totems flee through a inter-dimensional portal. Much to the dismay of Spider-Girl who is determined top get her brother back.
Fifth Page & Sixth Page
Meanwhile Silk is on Earth-3145, which is apparently "The End Of The Line"...as well as being a Nuclear wasteland. She is followed by the Inheritor Twins Brix and Bora, but they seem to be affected by the Nuclear Radiation a lot more than Silk. I assume that is because the Spider that gave both Cindy and Peter their powers was blasted with a "fantastic" amount of radiation, so they are both slightly irradiated. Anyone who has read Spider-Man: Reign is aware of the slightly odd story behind MJ's death. In order to protect herself even more from the radiation Silk creates a make-shift radiation suit out of her own webbing and sets out to the Bunker where she was held for most of her life.
Seventh Page & Eighth Page
The remaining Spider-Totems have found themselves in a dimension where the Jurassic Era never ended, and all seems to be well. No Inheritors and very interesting scenery, though I am wondering how Spider-Man would fair against a T-Rex...Meanwhile Spider-Woman seem to have become one of Morlun's Housemaids as the Jessica Drew of that dimension is one. I did not see that coming, at all, after seeing how many issues I need to buy to get all angles of Spider-Verse I can safely say that my wallet hates me.. It seems that the Weaver had planned this very odd coincidence.
Ninth Page & Tenth Page
Peter decides to check in with Miles Morales and the Spider-army he has put together...and it seems that it ties in directly with the Disney show as Ultimate Spider-Man refers to them as Web-Warriors. As well as the unfortunate appearance of the god awful Spider-Buggy. It was bad enough it existed in the early comicbooks, let alone Spider-Verse.
Eleventh Page
In the year 2099, on Earth-616, both Spider-Man 2099 and Spider-Lady are dissecting the dead cloned body of Daemos, whilst his alive body is trapped in a cell. But just as Spider-Man 2099 is about to give Peter some information about how to defeat the Inheritors, their communication system is hijacked by Lord Jennix, a Inheritor Scientist. He reveals that the whole time that the Spider-Totems have been communicating the Inheritors have been listening...that really is unfair. I mean sure it's expected due to how advanced some of the Inheritor technology is, but come on cut the Spiders a bit of slack. Sadly before Peter can ask Jennix any more questions his sister Verna shows up wit ha rather questionable arsenal. A seemingly rag tag group of Spider-Man's foes under her control, Rhino, Hammerhead, and I think Kraven. Though I will say that Rhino looks like he;'s from a more "Adult" Universe.
Twelfth Page & Thirteenth Page
Back on Earth-001, Spider-Woman has found the Master Weaver, the creature who has been allowing the Inheritors to travel across reality devouring Spider-Totems. But he has done none of this willingly, so he has been very carefully planning a rebellion, and it looks like his plans will go into action very soon. He gives Spider-Woman "The Prophecies" which are obviously written versions of the knowledge that the now dead Old Man Spider had. Their conversation is cut short once Morlun and the Twins show up with Benjy. Before Spider-Woman is caught with the scrolls she sends them off to Peter via teleport. At least on the bright side Peter now has knowledge, and Benjy now has Jessica to look after him.
Fourteenth Page & Fifteenth Page
Peter is surprised to see the Prophecies but does not have time to discover what they are. He takes himself and the other Totems away from danger and through a portal to Earth-3145, where Octavius is first to try and undermine this decision due to the amount of radiation. Luckily Cindy was right and the secret bunker where she was held, that is also a Nuclear Bomb Shelter, exists in this world and is their new safe haven.
Sixteenth Page & Seventeenth Page
But Cindy is not yet out of surprises, in this Universe, for some unknown reason, Uncle Ben is alive...and is quite possibly the only survivor on the planet. I am incredibly happy to see an Uncle Ben, but I am surprised that they have gone for this much of a far fetched reality. I mean it just seems to odd...There has to be a lot more to it than just "He was in her during the attacks".

My Overall View
I am completely blown away with the Spider-Verse arc, I am sure I have said it before but I will happily say it again. This may be my favourite Spider-Man Story Arc of all time. I mean where else would we see this much action, science, and Parker Luck. So far Dan Slott, Giuseppe Camuncoli, Cam Smith and Justin Ponsor have done a fantastic job with Spider-Verse, as well as Oliver Copiel. I would rate this issue 9/10. The plot just keeps getting richer and richer, and it is obvious that something BIG is going to happen. Maybe even something that will change Spider-Man forever. I just hope that all of the changes are for the best. I really would not want this series to be the undoing of such an amazing character. I also REALLY want to know what the Prophecy says. I mean come on, it's just so mysterious!
