All this news from the Sony hack about Spider-Man joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe is pretty exciting. I'd love for the character to be rebooted in the MCU. Personally, I believe he deserves it and is the franchise's best chance at becoming a billion dollar property. When I say that I mean each installment potentially grossing a billion.

If Spidey does join the MCU I'd like to see an adaption of the fantastic The Spectacular Spider-Man show where Peter is still in high school. I know Marc Webb's Peter was supposed to be a teenager but casting Andrew Garfield (and Emma Stone) negated that. Especially in TASM2.

Putting Peter in high school and actually casting teenagers would set the new franchise apart much like the Harry Potter films stood out. Because, like Harry, Hermione and Ron, Peter Parker is still just a kid underneath that mask. And that carries a unique emotional weight audiences won't find in the X-Men, the Avengers or the Justice League films.

Anyway, I love the name The Spectacular Spider-Man for a new franchise. And I'm guessing he wouldn't get a solo film until Phase 4, probably 2020. Have a look at it and feel free to critique below. More to come!

spiderman works better as a show than a movie. it's mpre than just power and responsibility. it's about the flaws the character is going through which is what the newer films captured while the old films didn't handle that quite well. there are 50 years of material to use from. doing another movie destroys any chances of telling the entire mythos and history

first off, that was freaking cool. and second the only thing i didnt like was "The Spectacular" part of it, not that it isnt cool, just my preffrence is all. the part that bugged me the most about ASM 1&2 is that it was called "Amazing Spider-Man but heavily based off the Ultimates Universe. i would think if Marvel got the character back i would like to see them do the title Spider-Man: Brand New Day

it would tell the audience that it woill be different then what we have previously seen, while still honoring the comics.
