Based on set photos from last year, we know Chris Zylka will reprise his role as Flash Thompson in The Amazing Spider-Man. Those images captured a scene in which him, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) and a tardy Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) were attending their high school graduation ceremony. Outside of that, we have no clue how much we'll see of Chris in the film. We do know this, he was important enough to be featured in the film's latest viral Daily Bugle article.
We asked our readers how they thought Spider-Man got his powers. You answered by email, text, blog, and even a brick through the window (please refrain from that in the future). Here’s what you had to say:

Flash T., Flushing

“He’s probably just a regular guy who got his powers by accident. Who cares? What really matters is what he’s doing with them now that he has them, right? Spidey’s keeping the streets clean and sticking up for everyday New Yorkers. He’s showing us we gotta stick up for ourselves, too. He saved us from the Lizard in our High School and no matter who he turns out to be, I’m always going to be on his side.”

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

How does Flash not know? Nobody's that stupid man. He saw him dunk a basketball and break the backboard, have the ball stick to his hand and he pinned him to a locker. Even if he didn't notice a bunch of football players saw him catch a football without looking at it and then dent a field goal by throwing it.

Kind of stretching it, but the quote said "is spidey from another planet" and the symbiote is. Flash and alien in the same article- Coincidence?

Man give us Eddie Brock! I wouldn't want to see agent venom before Eddie unless they're going up against one another in the same film. Now that would be pretty cool, other than that just give us Brock first!

They don't care what we want. They still think we give a crap about Peter's parents, FFS.

I love the virals for this. And Flash Thompson is such a cool character to focus when he goes out of high school. I wish that he'll be a part of the Venom film, but first we need the symbiote saga done right.

"He’s showing us we gotta stick up for ourselves, too."
The real Flash would not be smart enough to place a comma before "too."
They expect us to believe that Flash would be among the few people to know that proper use of a comma?

Cool stuff...but if somebody really wanted to know Spidey's identity, couldn't they get a dna reading by analyzing his spider-webbing? Sure he leaves his web all over NY...if true, guess what are the chances Peter's dna is in the 'system' for analysis...if Peter's parents were involved with "something" that would have gotten the governments or Oscorps attention, his parents may have had their dna on file, one way or another...just saying, ha, ha...but, this is a comic book movie, so many things need to be left alone and not analyzed to much ;)

I wonder if they're going to do a follow up article on Mr. Thompson's porn career under the moniker "Flesh Rompson".

I'm sure Oscorp will cover Pete's tracks (as far as him buying the webbing) as they, obviously, know who he is and have plans for him.

He probably got the "Doc Connors Bulk Discount" or Connors may have given it to him as payment for the formula (in the first film) or as something he felt might interest a fellow scientist (all conjecture, of course).
