In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Chris Cooper, Paul Giamatti, Colm Feore, Sally Field, and Chris Zylka, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to be released in the UK on 18th April and in the US on May 2nd.

Perhaps the only redeeming moment in an otherwise disappointing and at times awful movie.

@Josh

The web forming a hand reaching out was a bit cheesy-.-

I missed that funnily enough McNyagano, but I've seen a lot of people say the same. In a movie packed full of cringe-worthy cheesy moments, I'm not surprised though...I didn't think the scene was as good as the comics anyway, but man, seeing that might just spoil it for me!

I've just watched the scene leaked online last night. I was really upset that I spoiled it, but it was handled pretty good.
I thought that since they already changed the location of the scene, they'd also change the entire death, but I was impressed that they pulled it off as great as they did.
The clip ended before he got to see her body though, so right now I'm excited to watch the whole scene.

I have to agree on this being the best moment on this absolute bore & unpredictable film!
Yes, Web making a hand was just corny!
& name me ONE guy who's been on the internet who didn't already knew she's definitely going yo die, I mean they showed that entire sequence (except the ground crash) in the adds; EVEN GARFIELD's massive scream!
What's left to discover!
The only scene that I saw in the film & NOT already spoiled in adds was SPIDEY visiting Harry!
No other scene (maybe a few minor moments) weren't spoiled!

I loved the term Josh used in his review; lack of Direction & purpose of the film!
He had a million villains to defeat in 2 films; ALL ARE STILL FINE & MORE ARE READY!
What actually Spider-Man did in this film beside finding out about his parents "truth" that we should've been told in last film!

Really disappointed with TASM 2. I was literally shaking my head for the first hour of the film. Jamie Foxx was partly responsible. Dane Dehaan did help bring in some drama/conflict and assisted in-between the... 'Cheesy' moments. Aside from Electro, I felt Garfield's lines have gotten irritating with the mask on. But man, I will say that he really stepped up as Peter. It was easy to admire though, considering he stood out quite well among the rest of the cast, most of which didn't I didn't enjoy.

Lol I want to write a review, but I'm too lazy :P

Was Flash even in the movie? His name doesn't really belong in the cast if not

The power pylons playing the tune to the nursery rhyme "Incey Wincey Spider" as Electro threw him into them was more cheesier than the web-hand.

dean456 - 4/20/2014, 4:52 AM
They need to stick to one villain Sony just can't write a coherent story with more than 1 villain you leave it as just Electro and Harry working in the background the movie would have been fine or possibly even great.

Sinister Six is going to be a disaster.

Wow. A lot of bad remarks about the movie. Not that excited to see it but I still will on opening weekend.

When you put "massive spoiler" in the title, well anyone with a brain can figure out what happens. But what can you do?
I just saw Oculus last night. Gut-punch ending to a Shining-esque Poltergeist style horror movie. Honestly, only saw it because of Karen Gillan.

Worst Spider-Man movie ever. If you thought the shoehorning of characters into Spider-Man 3 was bad, just wait until you see this.

I could tell this movie sucked by the trailers...lol, man when a movie isn't interesting in the best parts cut down to 33 seconds edited just to get your attention, you know the movie will be bad...

I don't care what anyone here says...every trailer I've ever watched that was bad turned out to be a bad movie too...

Think about it, they are throwing everything they have in a trailer...if the trailer is barely interesting imagine what the movie is like...

And I hate to do it, and it may just end up being me, but DOFP looks somewhere in the mediocre to me...the trailer is only save d by a few cast including Dinklage and young Mags and X...

I love comic book movies, but these people are only doing this for the $& (which I understand they have to)...but no timing no respect, no consideration that American fans may be older than 13 at heart...ugh, sorry for the rant

How was the web forming a hand cheesy? The concept behind it was touching being it was representing Spider-Man desperately reaching out to save Gwen. If you can't even respect that, you truly don't deserve to have opinions on films. Seriously. -_-
ProfessorX
ProfessorX - 4/20/2014, 5:09 AM
Raimi's direction was fine. It was Arad's insistence on including the symbiote, Venom and Gwen Stacy that [frick]ed the movie.

If they had kept the villains to just Sandman and Harry (as originally planned), and had the symbiote land at the end of the film - setting up #4, it could have been fantastic.

I just watched XMen again and I think I realize my problems with the whole franchise...too many characters zzz.... The avengers were good because you could follow their story IMO, but there is just too much going on in xmen

...& don't forget Electro's out the thin air formation copying as fvck from Dr. Manhattan's transformation!
ProfessorX
ProfessorX - 4/20/2014, 5:13 AM
Arad explaining why they made Sandman Uncle Ben's killer: "We pride ourselves on connecting our villains to our heroes. We find a way to do it. In this story -- again without going too far into it because everything I say will end up somewhere -- we gave Sandman a real good story. Made him an interesting villain. Like all our villains are victims of circumstance in some ways.

This movie has a theme in a sense, which is about Peter dealing with the dark side. And the dark side comes out of issues. And Sandman is one of the issues. He was one who really did it. The other guy was an accomplice. "If I didn't chase him maybe things would have been different." It's a tough guilt trip. This is when one examines one's life to a great extent."

This man needs to stay the [frick] away from Spider-Man movies.
ProfessorX
ProfessorX - 4/20/2014, 5:20 AM
It is all his fault. If Raimi had been left to make the movie he wanted to make (sans symbiote, Venom, and Gwen Stacey), it could have been incredible.
