You can take a look at what's coming down the pipeline for Marvel in the Hachette Marvel catalogue preview [courtesy of Bleeding Cool] of May thru August. One interesting trade in the catalogue is the adaptation of the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man movie. Specifically, there will apparently be a book that collects Amazing Spider-Man: The Movie #1-4 into a single volume. As of right now, no creative team has been announced on the project but I'd expect that Marvel will definitely be bringing out one of their top guns for both the writing and art. Feel free to flip through the catalogue yourself and see if any of Marvel's books pique your interest..

Some burning questions I want to know is who will have art duties on the title and when will we be getting these comics released? If the trade collecting #1-4 comes out in June, when exactly can we expect issue #1 to be released?

More details as we have them.

The Amazing Spider-Man is an upcoming American superhero film directed by Marc Webb based on the comic book of the same name starring the fictional superhero, Spider-Man. It is the fourth Columbia Pictures film based on that Marvel Comics character, and the first film in a rebooted Spider-Man film franchise. The cast includes Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans, Gwen Stacy and Dr. Curt Connors, respectively. The film will portray Peter Parker as he is developing his super powers in high school.

The film's development began simultaneously with Sony announcing the cancellation of Spider-Man 4. Opting for a reboot rather than another sequel, the studio announced a July 2012 release date for what was now titled The Amazing Spider-Man. James Vanderbilt was hired to write the script while Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves helped fine-tune the script. Filming started in December 2010 in Los Angeles before moving to New York City with the help of RED Epic camera. The film entered post-production in April 2011.

The Amazing Spider-Man is scheduled to be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on July 3, 2012. A video game tie-in is being developed and sequels of the film are being planned for release.

I think Mark Bagely should be the artist since he did Ultimate Spider-Man or I would like the artist who made the game cover for Marvel vs Capcom 3.

I read some of the info in the little booklet thing, and it says Join Spider Man as he tangles with the likes of the Lizard, Electro, and Captain George Stacy. Sounds interesting....why is Electro in there?

@soda9 Adi Granov, he doesn't really do interior art sadly, his most famous is Iron Man Extremis, that's more or less it, which is a shama because his covers are amazing

Nomis- Peter Parker is suppose to be a teenager most of the time. I'm sure Marvel Studios would've done the same

Nomis- yea this is totally looking like Twilight. I mean I see vampires and were-wolves [sp?] fighting. I see a dead guy stalking and marrying a girl. Man the comparison is uncanny.

I think Steve McNiven is the perfect man for the job. Only by imagining all the new looks combined with his art already makes me interested.

And why not, movie adaptations usually alter a lot of things (especially the climaxes), if I have a chance, then I'll check it.

Not sure if I want to spoil myself, but yeah, I'll definitely be in line for this, most likely after I see the film so I can relive the movie over and over. and over.

So I guess Electro is in the film? Makes a little bit of sense I guess. Don't know how they'd fit that in and if they did, why didn't we see any of the set photos of anyone that looked like a guy full of electricity?

Dr.Ratha in the trailer says " do u know what you really are?" so I'm guessing he is threating to reveal Peters secret because he saw him get bit or something.

@redleaf & thewolfx

That suit was already taken directly from the comics. It was an early version of Spidey's in an extended retro long of the Irgun story in Marvel Knights.
