We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

I can't wait for this and I actually feel that the marketing for this film is as good as The Avengers and Iron Man 3 back in 2012 and 2013. I feel The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be the biggest superhero film of the year, and if it's as good as it looks, the best Spidey film yet.

I don't think the marketing is overkill simply because I'm not watching the trailers, I feel that every superhero blockbuster is marketed very similarly to TASM2, but for some odd reason people complain of overkill with this and not something like Captain America almost half hour of footage been released before the film was even out.

You only see too much of a film before the release date if you spoil yourself. These trailers and the marketing blitz are for the GA, not the fanboys, and I feel they are doing a pretty good job building the anticipation of the masses for this film.

It looks Amazing (pun intended) but they're really milking these trailers just as bad as CapCom milks Street Fighter IV. And I just saw Captain America: TWS. 9/10 CBM, awesome!

When I first saw the villain designs I wasn't fussed but now they are growing on me and they are a unique take on the original characters! Either way I think it's going to be a great action packed film! So excited

I am really excited for TASM 2. There was a lot of cool footage in that trailer, i just feel like with all these tv spots and trailers that i've seen half the film but i'm hoping i'm wrong. There is a thing as too much marketing.
